After a couple of cases of bullying in the West Genesee School District, a group of students is springing into action. They've formed a business, begun filming a documentary and launched a website. Next, they're planning to bring their anti-bullying message to speaking engagements at schools across Central New York.

The title of their venture reflects precisely their goal. It is "Stop the Hate and Spread the Hope," or "STH Squared." They've already gotten a business certificate and they're now trying to become a non-profit agency.

School Anti-Bullying Programmes don't work, says Counsellor | Scoop News | Bullying | Scoop.it
A 2009 study entitled “School based Programs to Reduce Bullying and Victimisation” http://www.ncjrs.gov/pdffiles1/nij/grants/229377.pdf revealed an 80% failure rate in reducing victimisation by bullies. My child’s teacher is a big bully | Bullying | Scoop.it

Pilot project to tackle bullying

Pilot project to tackle bullying | Bullying | Scoop.it
Young people across the Borders are to take part in a pilot project designed to help tackle school bullying.

Scottish Borders Council is to set up a Young People's Commission, which will help shape its policy on bullying.

Up to a dozen young people between the ages of 15 and 25 will be recruited to the commission.

The move follows a local survey which showed almost 40% of school pupils identified bullying as an issue while 32% were worried about cyber-bullying.

The commission, which will include school pupils and young people from youth projects and colleges, will research the topic and make recommendations to a council advisory board.... http://bit.ly/f68LJt
