Bridget Hardy-Everett's insight:
Self-development is the key, but where do you get these traits and insight when you come from a place where this is not displayed or taught to a being. I had to figure this out and thankfully there was a mentor who came from a different world than mine, but did everything in his being to make me understand the importance of seeking and implementing self-development.
First, to seek you must look in the mirror, beseech and embrace critiquing, and then acknowledge what you have sought.
Second, you must explore ideas, things and people that will help you develop in a way that will empower you and the ones that surround you; because this ultimately will validate your growth. Most times these things will be new and uncomfortable at first, but self-development only can be authenticated when you, yourself has embraced what you have pursued.

Fifty years after the War on Poverty began, millions of women are still struggling to get by.
Bridget Hardy-Everett's insight:
I was stunned to see 2.8k people recommended and shared this article to be read, something really needs to be done about.poverty. There are things being done, but is it enough? I firmly believe every person receiving public assistance or of low income status should have oppoortunities to better themselves. That is why i am determined to provide free resoures.
There are a millon professional mentoring organizations,I know because I belong to some of them. But, also I am one of many women who had received public assistance at one time, but these days I am always working on personal self-development, enhancing skills such as public speaking, writing, and enhancing my technical skills. All these I have found to be the key in growing personally and professionally, however, enhancing these skills with a mentor is a smoother transistion for people getting off public assistance or trying to get over a low income rut.
For example, in my program if someone needs someone to practice interview questions with them the night before, or need some tips on what to wear, or just a coversation about their fustration of being in a poverty state; then a mentor or hotline will be available.
Most people don't understand or could careless that when people come from long line of poverty, it is not so easy to pull themselves up by the bootstraps, they are not even sure where to start, and in my experience most help is not real help.
As a welfare reformed woman who works hard to stay off the system, I want to give back freely. I have learned that knowledge has and holds power!
