Data Driven Innovation: Starting with Community Needs with Tim Diamond and Anastassia Diamond Ortiz
How does a library decidewhen to offer something new? What about tweaking existing collections and services? Can a library have it all figured out? Join us as we discuss data driven innovation processes and decision-making informed by design thinking and how these ideas can benefit your libraries communities. Bring a burning question about your library's services or community for discussion. Presenters Tim Diamond is part of the Knowledge Office team at Cleveland Public Library where he has worked for the past 24 years. Necessary and mundane tasks aside, the Knowledge Office advises the Director on strategy formation and innovative practices to advance the Library’s mission. While at Kent State’s library school, he took a part-time job at CPL, fell in love with the work and never left. He lives on the west side of Cleveland with his partner of sixteen years, a yellow lab, and 100,000 honey bees (give or take). Anastasia Diamond-Ortiz is the Knowledge Manager at Cleveland Public Library. She is pleased to have been involved in many innovative projects at Cleveland Public Library, especially those focused on community engagement and staff ideation and implementation. Her current areas of focus include GIS and data visualization. She received her MLIS from Kent State University in 2003.
