iPads in Primary Education: Changing the Pedagogy: Independent Learning in Science

iPads in Primary Education: Changing the Pedagogy: Independent Learning in Science | BSD Digital Learning | Scoop.it

"Pupils in year 6 have been using iPods since September on a 1:1 basis with a focus on using the technology to support learning, develop productivity, independence and impact on pupil progress across the curriculum. The devices haven’t been used for everything, but are available as a tool to enhance the learning for any given task. Alongside this there have also been frequent daily occasions when the best tool for the job has been: pencil and paper, scissors and glue, laptop and printer, a good book and silence. The role of the device was made clear to pupils, parents and staff at the beginning of the year and the planned outcome has always been to use the technology, if it was the best tool for the job to enhance learning."
