21st Century Work: Career-Readiness Isn't What It Used To Be

Thinking of jobs, careers, and pay is–by some–being replaced with the idea of work, relationships, and meaning. Technology and the resulting connectivity are a part of this. In the 21st century, we all have personal “brands”–digital footprints that precede and proceed us, leaving a record of our interactions and ideas for anyone to see.

Humility makes sense. Socrates knew that he was ignorant, and therefor was ready to learn. If I think that I already know a thing, or do not need to know a thing, then my mind is closed to it. All learning starts from a point of ignorance, and then move to greater approximations of understanding until mastery.
Srimayee Dam's comment, July 10, 2014 11:43 AM
Absolutely! Most are unable to do so, unwilling to learn .. Being ignorant is fine, but lack of humility won't ever help

Daniel Watson's curator insight, June 25, 2014 9:38 AM

Plans develop into projects, and then projects are allocated to managers, who are required to utilise the resources they have at their disposal to deliver the required outcomes.

Sounds simple, but in reality far to many projects fail to deliver the outcomes expected, or fail to meet the deadlines by which the outcomes needed to be delivered.

This excellent article, recognises that effective project implementation is not something that happens without a lot of planning, and it offers 10 tips that business owners can follow to ensure that their projects are effectively implemented.

Happy birthday, World Wide Web!

I have no idea why, but I am fascinated by the big universe that is the Web, and how it came into being. While I don't understand how packets and nodes work, the simple fact that I'm here typing this message to people who live hundreds and even thousands of miles away from here is amazing.

I'm not going to ask you what you were doing 25 years ago, of course. But do you remember the first time you used the Internet?
