I disagree with you Richard Leonard. The best way for unions to influence politics is to listen to their members. Every few years union members for unions with political affiliations should have to vote for the party to whom they wish to give their political affiliation to, and not continue to blindly support Labour no matter what they do or say.  Labour long ago left behind its union roots and became the red Tories.
