Storytellers and Software Developers Create An Impact Together!

Storytellers and Software Developers Create An Impact Together! | Brands | Scoop.it

My last post emphasized focusing on storytelling and customer enagagement as being paramount in branding, whereas technology was only the means to an end. In this article for Fast Company, Rei Inamoto is talking about the importance of technology which helps to enhance user interaction.

My take on this is depending on the brand and who your audience is, and what elements you need to create an impact. It's not either or, it's a unique recipe and a collaboration of different skill sets to hit a home run. More and more brands are building their interactivity through gaming and are experiencing a higher rate of brand loyalty.

Obviously this is an ongoing conversation, what's your take?

Here's an excerpt:

The big part of this industry is still relegating technology just as an execution, a production task, and not as a strategic point of view. If we take any cues from thee start-ups of the last decade, leveraging technology in a simple and creative way will get us closer to capturing the hearts and minds of consumers of the 21st century.

This is the next generation of renewable energy technologies | Rebecca Burn-Callander | Telegraph.co.uk | Brands | Scoop.it

Scientists all over the globe are working to develop sustainable new energy sources to reduce our dependence on dwindling fossil fuel supplies.

In the UK, just 5pc of the nation’s energy comes from renewables. The Government has set a target of 15pc by 2020, but progress is slow.

Some sustainable energy sources, such as solar energy, are mature marketplaces, with 60 years of research behind them. Others, such as antimatter, are more experimental.

The science of antimatter is still in its infancy but scientists claim that mixing just half a gram of antimatter with half a gram of matter would create the same energy generated by the Hiroshima bomb.

There are several start-ups developing other ground-breaking technologies for generating electricity, some using methods that seem more Star Trek: The Next Generation than National Grid. We meet three entrepreneurs leading the charge into next-generation renewables.

4 ways social media impacts emotional branding | Mark Schaefer

4 ways social media impacts emotional branding | Mark Schaefer | Brands | Scoop.it

...Here are a few of the marketing philosophies I uphold, which will explain the rest of this post on social media and emotional branding:

1  We build relationships with brands like we build relationships with our friends. It takes many positive interactions over a period of time.

2. Loyalty trumps everything. If the world turns upside-down, your loyal customers will be there. So our ultimate goal is to create loyalty.

3. It is impossible to achieve true brand loyalty in the long-term without emotional connection.

4. Emotional connection comes when we feel a brand becomes part of our self-identity.

So let’s start a little examination of how social media can fit into this formula....

To build trust and loyalty with customers, Mark Shaefer says we need to create a connection. Social media is ideal for this type of emotional branding.

Red Bull's Branding Lessons For Personal Branding via Curatti

Red Bull's Branding Lessons For Personal Branding via Curatti | Brands | Scoop.it

This post is about the branding journey from Tide in 1958 to Red Bull now with one inescapable conclusion - We Are All Media Companies Now. What are implications of Red Bull's branding lessons for personal branding?

* Create community, don't try and create a "personal brand" on your own (and yes we realize that sounds strange).
* Find VISUAL and DYNAMIC ways to discuss your personal brand.
* Use recognizable logos that are relevant to your personal brand.
* Look for the AWESOME and OUTSTANDING and then take a risk and DO IT.
* More risk in being boring than taking risks.

Create community, get visual (pictures, graphics, video) riff recognizable relevant logos and take risks since the  biggest risk is not taking risks.
