This article is about small business using the concept of gamification to drive and increase brand awareness. Gamification can be used as a tool to increase brand awareness in a positive way. Brands can differentiate themselves from other brands by because its creates more engaging and interactive experiences for the users. Which in turn creates long lasting impressions. By introducing certain game-like constructs such as points and badges to non-game applications like websites and social applications to increase engagement and loyalty. By implementing the use of gamification you can increase engagement in metrics such as time spent on page and view by 100 to 150%. Gamification can be looked as as an internal strategy, and when companies incorporate this strategy properly and it can have a positive infectious and viral result.

This article talks about the power of storytelling to build brand awareness. We discussed the power of online story campaigns in class and this article does just that. Essentially traditional messages in the old broadcast style, only showcase your product and promote the need of the product. This technique can be overlooked and forgotten, which in turn can be rendered as ineffective. An example of successful story telling that we discussed in class and the article mentioned as well would be " Dove's real beauty sketches, which super-charged the brand awareness and loyalty, without mentioning any dove products. The shift from broadcast messaging to storytelling allows brands to increase their permanence and be related and applied to real life occurrences. When audiences can see how a product can function as something that can create a story in their life, they are more inclined to relate to it. The article states that the four steps to build brand awareness are craft your myth, know your hero, live your story, and practice makes perfect. If a brand can incorporate these four steps into the story they are promoting, this can result in positive results as well as and on living presence for the brand.

When I think of branding, I think of company's and organizations core message, image; essentially what sets this company a part from the rest. That is why I thought this article was very interesting because it discussed branding in terms of being personal. The article states that your brand could be considered what people say about you once you leave the room. This relates to the words that are invoked when people think of you, your skills, values and talents. Your brand can be deemed as what people expect from you.  You can develop your brand based on what your online presence is like. How do employers perceive you? You can strengthen your brand to relate to future potential employers by having your brand relate to theirs, so orient yourself to seem like you are the match the company is looking for. This article gave me a new outlook on the world of branding. But it is interesting how the ways to strengthen and develop your brand and the same steps that a company would take to increase their brand image and awareness. Some key points would be honor your commitment, be ethical and build your online presence. This concepts apply to what a company does in order to maintain positive brand awareness and recognition for themselves as well
