Customers often buy brands because they consciously or subconsciously associate them with feelings such as comfort and security. Therefore, brands need to establish certain factors by which customers can identify them by. Brands need to be focused, with a clear strategy, and have a point of difference. It is crucial for them to understand the target market they are trying to sell their product/service to, as it allows the brand to better cater to their needs. Companies also need to take advantage of social media, and find a voice for their company through which they can communicate with their consumers.

This is a great article on knowing how to market your brand to your consumers and anyone else invovled in this process. It shares how you must know what your customers want and how a brand affects many of us. It is so true in that we all have certain tastes, needs and wants from a prticulatr brand. So when going through the consumer decsion making process if a certain barnd has been marketed the right way, the consumer will grow to trust that brand and positively influence it by communicating the brand to others.

this article clearly gives a good outline on how to grow your brand and maintain it. As the article states brand loyalty is something that grows over time; even if the consumers dont realise it. this is one key reason for businesses to ensure that the effectively manage their brands. some key points to take from the article would be that a business needs to be focused, have a point of difference ( a strong selling point ) and be authentic - be yourself; no one wants to buy a fake product.. A new aspect that is coming into play to maintain a successful brand is using social media. its free, easy to use and helps to communicate and understand the consumers.

This article is pretty much saying that you need to give your brand a personality. To be unique and different in a way that is appealing to your consumers. Companies need to do research into who their consumers are and create a personality for their brand that suits them. Their brands voice also needs to be consistent so that they are not contradicting to themself in anyway or sound like someone else so that it makes it easier for consumers to create a relationship with their brand and get an idea of who they are as a brand. Brands also need to be focused and distinguish themselves from its competitors.

Based on many marketers’ ideas mentioned in the article, branding is most essential for a business because it makes a business or a brand stands out from the massive market. Like a person has his or her own personality, a brand should have its personality that is brand identity. As long the positioning and identity of a brand has settled down, the company can have the orientation of the development of the brand, make the appropriate marketing strategy and launch advertising campaigns effectively. It is more easily for customers to recognize and remember the brand according to its special properties and identity. Among the competitors, defining the brand is very important. If you don’t define your brand, you create the possibility that someone else will do it for you, including your competitors. Here’s a good example of brand identity – Coca Cola. People can easily recognize this brand based on the jingle, TV ads, packages, and the signature color – red.

According to the article, a brand needs to be marketed and created so that it differentiates itself from competitors. If a company chooses not to distinguish itself from other competitors, than it faces the issue of competing brands building a better brand image. . The use of good company examples such as MacDonald's  Coca Cola and Apple are also evident, and they add to the thread of the article linking success to brand image. I think there are benefits to adopting integrated marketing communication with consumers, to strengthen the brand I think a clear uniform message must be delivered to consumers.
