But what does a content strategy look like? How does it relate to a marketing strategy? How do you know you have it? Here’s a quick summary of what it looks like:

Une infographie qui rappelle aux commerçants online ce postulat : les consommateurs webnautes s'abreuvent d'informations commerciales en ligne, mais n'avalent pas tout en masse.

Les 3/4 ne croient pas que les entreprises disent la vérité dans les pubs (ouch pour le display !) mais tous se servent du web pour se forger une conviction avant d'acheter (... y compris pour acheter offline).

Mais une fois la relation de confiance instaurée (et vérifiée !), les 9/10 sont fidèles à leur(s) marque(s).

The Content Marketing Pyramid: Create More With Less

The Content Marketing Pyramid: Create More With Less | Brand Storytelling | Scoop.it

These days, content marketing teams are expected to create content in all shapes and sizes. Following the advice of content marketing sages, we’re posting tweets every few hours, blogging every day, podcasting every week, publishing an eBook every month… and the list goes on. Trying to keep up with the seemingly insatiable demand, content teams often feel overwhelmed and stretched too thin. Even worse, all this frenetic activity often lacks an underlying strategy or focus.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Back in 2010, I proposed the Content Marketing Pyramid — a strategy that allows you to get more out the door with the same effort. It’s done by combining infrequent, time-intensive content with low-effort, recurring content....

Why Small Businesses Hate Content Marketing (and What to Do About it)

Why Small Businesses Hate Content Marketing (and What to Do About it) | Brand Storytelling | Scoop.it

Have you ever tried to explain what Content Marketing is to a small business owner?

Ever been to a meeting where social media comes up and you’re greeted with blank stares and a “let’s please move on” gaze?

And what about the following …“I like the idea, but not right now.”

“We just don’t have time.”“I don’t write … ”

I could go on, but you get the picture (or like me, you’ve experienced this push-back)....

According to a recent CMI & MarketingProfs study, 93% of B2B marketers use content marketing across an average of 15 different tactics. But it’s not just quantity that wins with B2B buyers.Individual buyers and buying committees have to sort through a lot of information to make decisions and the marketers that can make the experience of information discovery, consumption and next steps a easy and positive one, will win the day.One of my favorite expressions that illustrates this evolution in B2B content is:Facts Tell, Stories Sell....

Kurt Vonnegut gained notoriety and acclaim for his novels -- like Breakfast of Champions, “a slippery, lucid, bleakly humorous jaunt through (sick? inhumane?) America circa 1973,” with Vonnegut acting as our Virgil-like companion, Cat's Cradle, a satirical commentary on modern man and his madness,” and Slaughterhouse-Five, “one of the world's great anti-war books. Centering on the infamous fire-bombing of Dresden, Billy Pilgrim's odyssey through time reflects the mythic journey of our own fractured lives as we search for meaning in what we are afraid to know.
