Launching A Creative Marketing Campaign -- Without Breaking The Bank | Brand Storytelling | Scoop.it
As CEO of a creative marketing and public relations firm, I’ve seen how unique marketing strategies can elevate a company’s brand awareness and drive ROI more than the traditional approaches. Executing a successful marketing campaign doesn’t require millions of dollars in funding: Small businesses and startups can market themselves on a small budget by thinking outside the box. Here are some tips to maximize your campaign efforts...

How to Use Screenwriting Techniques for Content Marketing

How to Use Screenwriting Techniques for Content Marketing | Brand Storytelling | Scoop.it

In marketing circles, we tend to rely on things like flow charts, diagrams, and pyramids. But according to Hausmann, that’s no way to tell a story.

“You wouldn’t summarize a trip by saying, I’d like to show you a couple of the key message points and summarize those for you in a beautiful pyramid and diagram,” he says.

To close the time and efficiency gap between the typical (and boring) marketing strategy language and creative execution, bringing a screenwriters’ toolkit into the process can make a world of difference, according to Hausmann.

At #ThinkContent Summit 2017, he provided step-by-step instructions for “brand scripting,” which he defines as identifying a company’s core brand narrative and building the story structure that aligns all executional efforts.

Take a look at Hausmann’s script for content marketing success, illustrated through the brand Beats by Dre....

Why You Must Refocus Your Message on Problems Not Solutions | Duct Tape Marketing

Why You Must Refocus Your Message on Problems Not Solutions | Duct Tape Marketing | Brand Storytelling | Scoop.it

In this post – 5 Steps to Restart, Recharge and Revive Your Marketing Right Now! – I introduced an aggressive initiative to help any business owner struggling to stay on plan with their marketing for the year. The idea is to take the mid-point of the year and get a fresh restart.

While the previous post kicked off the idea today’s post 1 of 5 Summer Restart is meant to get us down to business.

Ready to cover the five steps to restart your marketing plan for the year?

QOh, side note – I love summer – I embrace the heat and here in the Midwest the humidity – so since we are talking about restarting your plan as Summer kicks in I thought I would give this entire series a Summer motif. Thus the watermelon in the image above....

Turn Boring PowerPoint Slides into Visual Masterpieces using these 11 Image Hacks [Presentation Hackathon Part 2]

Turn Boring PowerPoint Slides into Visual Masterpieces using these 11 Image Hacks [Presentation Hackathon Part 2] | Brand Storytelling | Scoop.it
We, the digital natives, are visual learners. We prefer to watch a video tutorial rather than go through a PDF document, prefer an infographic over a bullet-point article and a picture quote over a text quote. Several sources claim that the human brain processes visual information 60,000 times faster than text. Studies prove our visual memory is also far superior to auditory one. We are able to recall only 10-20% of a spoken lecture but 65% if the lecture is visual and verbal.

These claims become all the more worthy of our attention if the reports of human attention span shrinking to just 8 seconds- below that of goldfish- are true. What does this mean for your presentations? Make the most of the power of visuals!

Wait, you must be asking “Where do I put all the text?”. First of all, try to brutally cut down the word count on your slide. Keep ONLY the most important words on the slide (we have to free up space for visuals!). Now what? Now, get ready to turn those slides into a visual masterpiece with these 11 hacks

How to Use The Power of Storytelling to Connect With Your Audience

How to Use The Power of Storytelling to Connect With Your Audience | Brand Storytelling | Scoop.it
Did you know a healthy adult takes 12 to 16 breaths in one minute?

But have you ever thought about what can actually happen online in this single minute?

Okay, I will give you an idea… take a look at these numbers from Smart Insights:

4 million search queries per minute
1,388 blog posts are published
Facebook users share 3.3 million pieces of content
205 million emails sent
400 hours of video uploaded to YouTube
Twitter users tweet nearly 422, 340 times
Instagram users post nearly 55,555 new photos
Given this crazy amount of activity going on every minute, of every day, the real question is how your content will grab the attention of your target audience. If you really want to attract people, you need to tell a genuine and interesting story.

Stories are a great medium to express your views, impress people and make a human connection with them.

We, humans, are social creatures and we are attracted to stories. Everyone has a story and everyone loves a great story. It gives us a reason to communicate and engage.

"Storytelling helps us make sense of our lives and the world around us. They are an incredibly effective method of finding and sharing meaning and context. What a fab post about branding, corporate narratives, and what makes them successful

As Regis McKenna says, brand is a memory. He's getting at the dynamics of the story experience here, and the impact of story on corporate culture -- not simplistic messaging. What I love about this article are the points he makes about tech titans like Apple, Intel, Toyota and others who have a corporate narrative that reflects who they are.

I also like how he points to HP as a company that lost its narrative, and lost its way in the marketplace.

There are many more insights here about startup stories, serial entrepreneurs, pivoting your story when needed, and the link between corporate narratives and success.
