Maidana will give Mayweather more problems in the rematch, says Garcia

Maidana will give Mayweather more problems in the rematch, says Garcia | Boxing | Scoop.it
By Dan Ambrose: Since WBA/WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr (46-0, 26 KO’s) said that he would be fighting Marcos Maidana (35-4, 31 KOs) in a rematch on September 13th, boxing fans have largely dismissed Maidana’s chances by saying that Mayweather will easily out-box him this time by choosing not to slug like he did last time. Mikey Garcia, the brother of Maidana’s trainer Robert Garcia, believes that Maidana will give Mayweather even more problems than last time because he’ll know what to expect from him this time, and he’ll feel more confident that he can land his big power shots. “I think Maidana is going to come in a little bit better now, because he’s more confident,” Mikey said. “The last time he thought he was going to be in with this fighter that he couldn’t touch. But he saw that he could hit him. He saw what he can do. He saw how effective he was. He’s going to come with more confidence and in better shape, and he’s not going to let off the gas at all. And if
Franco wolaniuk's insight:

Next September 13, Maidana will have remacth versus Floyd Mayweather. Mikey Garcia, the brother of Maidana’s trainer,
believes that Maidana will give Mayweather even more problems than last fight. “I think Maidana is going to come in a little bit better now, because he’s more confident. And if they say it’s true that they’re going to let him use his gloves that he wanted then that can definitely change the results.” saids Garcia.

Arum: Pacquiao has agreed to fight Cotto-Martinez winner

Arum: Pacquiao has agreed to fight Cotto-Martinez winner | Boxing | Scoop.it
By Chris Williams: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum says that Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KO's) wants to fight the winner of the June 7th fight between WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (51-2-2, 28 KO's) and Miguel Cotto (38-2, 31 KO's). What Arum doesn't say is what weight Pacquiao will be fighting the winner of that fight at. Given Pacquiao's history of fighting bigger guys at strength draining catch weights, it won't work if the Cotto-Sergio winner has to drain down to 147 or 150 in order to give Pacquiao a big enough handicap for the fight to take place. "Yeah, Manny has agreed to fight the winner [of Cotto vs. Martinez," Arum said. "I haven't talked to either of these fighters whether if they won if they would want to fight Manny, but I'll do that after the fight. I'll only have to talk to one guy, not two." Pacquiao's pay-per-view numbers have been below 1 million buys for the last several years, but by agreeing to fight the Sergio vs. Cotto winner, this is one way where
