David Denby: “The Great Gatsby” Review

David Denby: “The Great Gatsby” Review | Books & More | Scoop.it
The vulgarity of Baz Luhrmann’s “The Great Gatsby” is designed to win over the young audience, and it suggests that Luhrmann’s less a filmmaker than a music-video director with endless resources and a stunning absence of taste.
Books&More - Students on International Trade Publishing's insight:

The writer is criticizing the movie adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald book, The Great Gatsby. Aesthetically, the movie does not succeed, as well as musically. The glamour of the decade and of Fitzgerald prose are lost under Luhrmann’s direction. But the actors are incredible.

Why ebooks are a different genre from print | Books & More | Scoop.it
Stuart Kelly: The differences in format are beginning to change the nature of what we're reading, and how we do it
Books&More - Students on International Trade Publishing's insight:

This text tries to think about something I believe should be on the mind of every publisher: what can the e-book be, what are the implications of this format for the text and the reading habits? E-books are something different and should be thought of as so – it can make wonders to the publishing industry to think this way.

Books&More - Students on International Trade Publishing's insight:

The article is about the lack of privacy revealed in the US and how it resulted on a rise on the 1984 sales. The author compares the book to what’s happening, being optimistic when saying we are far from the portrait Orwell painted. He also praised the dystopian novel, remembering it was also about love – another political act in itself.
