Hi Becky, I strongly suggest you try Mapbox.com too. It's much easier than this and yes you need to be a bit fluent with CSS-like style sheets to get the best of TileMill.

Thanks, Robin. It sounds like Mapbox.com might be more my speed. You curate such amazing tools!

Today as I was working on Google Forms to create some forms for my colleagues in the university, the idea of providing my readers here with some practical   pre-made template forms dawned on me. I know many of you would have recourse to the services provided by Google Forms and sometimes it would take you a lot of time to get what you want into form; having a set of ready made forms can make your job easier knowing that most of the ones I handpicked for you today are among the most used templates in Google Docs. You can also check the list of 20 Google Forms I published last year for more choices. Enjoy

"A Web Interface Where Teachers Can See Detailed Information About The Progress Of Their Students In The Game

CGS research is focused around creating the best learning experience for students and providing the best support for teachers. Their current project looks at how they can make Treefrog Treasure dynamically adapt the progression of numberline concepts based on each student’s performance in the game. Here, the game looks at how the student did on past levels, and selects the next challenge so that it will maximize both learning and engagement. The goal is to dynamically create a personalized progression for every student."...

A través de un portal los profesores pueden observar los progresos.Una buena propuesta si consiguen que los niños se interesen así por las matemáticas.

"The evolution of the web from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0 and now to Web 3.0 can be used a metaphor of how education should also be evolving, as a movement based on the evolution from Education 1.0 to Education 3.0."

A useful summary table although I'd emphasise that the different 'versions' of education all have their place - v2.0 does not supercede v1.0
Elke Watson's comment, July 19, 2013 1:49 PM
Thank you. I'm not quite ready myself to do away with teaching professionals or brick and mortal education. I value learning in a group context. I found the second summary table more useful (pedagogy, andragogy, heutagogy)

W.3.6. With guidance and support from adults, use technology to produce and publish writing (using keyboarding skills) as well as to interact and collaborate with others.

Beth Dichter's curator insight, February 28, 2013 7:44 PM

This report from Pew Internet and American Life looks at how teachers use technology both at home and in their classroom, with a focus on teachers of middle and high school students. The survey was taken by 2,462 teachers who teach either Advanced Placement (AP) courses (1,750) or work with the National Writing Project (NWP) (712 teachers). A few of the finding are listed below.

* 92% of these teachers say the internet has a “major impact” on their ability to access content, resources, and materials for their teaching

* 73% of AP and NWP teachers saying that they and/or their students use their cell phones in the classroom or to complete assignments

* Teachers of low income students, however, are much less likely than teachers of the highest income students to use tablet computers (37% v. 56%) or e-readers (41% v. 55%) in their classrooms and assignments

There are many other findings. This report is available online through the Pew website. The link goes to the Summary of the Findings but and you may acccess the full report from this page.

4 Great Rubrics to Help you Select Educational Apps ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

4 Great Rubrics to Help you Select Educational Apps ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Bookmarked Web Links with ENSC Knight-Time Tech | Scoop.it

As iPads are increasingly infiltrating our educational systems the question of the pedagogical implications ensuing from the use of these mobile gadgets in the classroom come to the surface. Some do look at them as an added distraction and that  learning can be more focused without students having access to them during the class. Traditionalists do advocate this view and are  , in fact,  against the " over-digitization " of education. To these people I say what John Dewy once said " If we teach today as we thought yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow "
