Book Reviews
Sometimes we complete a book in one sitting, while sometimes we find it very difficult to even finish a book. Reviews help us pick up the right book of our favorite genre. With this topic, it is my honest attempt to put forth a blatant yet candid review of the books of various genres, which would help readers select a better book of desired genre.

I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND this book to every book lover. Amazing story telling, awesome fictional middle-earth and so many fantasy things make “Fellowship Of The Ring” an enchanting epic fantasy. The Black Dahlia (L.A. Quartet #1) by James Ellroy - Book Review - An Avocation in Blog Form

I would NOT RECOMMEND this book to book lover. This book is not entirely about “The Black Dahlia” murder, it has many un-necessary events which make the plot insipid. I would rate “The Black Dahlia” 3 stars out of 5.

Pravin Patil's insight:

Infested by savorless extrinsic description, blunt investigation “The Black Dahlia” dissipates one of the most gruesome and publicised murder.

Red Dragon (Hannibal Lecter #1) by Thomas Harris - Book Review - An Avocation in Blog Form

Even though suspense and intrigue in “Red Dragon” is depleted in the middle of the novel, I would RECOMMEND it to the crime fiction lovers. Thomas Harris is one of those very few authors who can give nightmares through his writing. If you are really interested in the Hannibal Lecter Series, I would advice you to start with this. It sets the ground for monstrous Hannibal Lecter Series. I would rate this novel 3.5 stars out of 5. – 0.5 for the flat second part of the novel.

Pravin Patil's insight:

Atrocious “Red Dragon” & Cunning Devil Dr Hannibal Lecter set the stage for diabolical Hannibal Lecter Series. A good start to the pure evil series.

The Empty Chair (Lincoln Rhyme #3) by Jeffery Deaver - Book Review - An Avocation in Blog Form

I would RECOMMEND this book to the crime fiction lovers. Jeffery Deaver’s protagonist Lincoln Rhyme is undoubtedly the best in forensic fictions. The book retains the suspense till the last page and keeps reader on the edge, guessing what would happen next. The description of insects in the words of “Insect Boy” is worth reading. I would rate this book 4 stars out of 5. I reduced one star for the apathetic start of the book. But once it takes U-turn, there is nothing stopping this novel from filing the empty chair with non-stop suspense, thrill and bite-your-nails feeling.

Pravin Patil's insight:

"Insect Boy" in the empty chair stirs and stupefies reader in this fast paced, spine-chilling suspense thriller.
