6 Electric Car-Sharing Programs Better Than a Billion Teslas on the Road | Blogs | Scoop.it
Tesla is finally taking the wraps off the Model 3, its first mass-market electric vehicle priced at an affordable $35,000. The car is expected to push EVs into the mainstream and reduce carbon emissions around the world. The only downside? Many cities don’t have enough charging stations to support widespread adoption of such vehicles.

Two Le Marche Wines among the Italian Wines for the Holidays

Two Le Marche Wines among the Italian Wines for the Holidays | Blogs | Scoop.it

talian wines can make any day feel like a holiday. But we do have holidays upcoming so here are a few Italian wines that I recently tasted in downtown Vancouver that you may want to consider purchasing.  Of particular note are the white wines made with indigenous grapes you may not have heard of; Carricante andGrillo exclusively grown in Sicilia.

I divided up the wines according to their geographic region in Italy and highlighted the regions on the map on the right.  Maybe you will see some similarities in the aromas and flavours of the grapes and the wines within each region. [...]

Two Le Marche Wines among the Italian Wines for the Holidays

Monte Schiavo – Tenute Pieralisi Marzaiola Lacrima di Morro d’Alba DOC 2015 – Made from the very interesting Lacrima grape.  La Crima in Italian means “tears”.  I asked the winery principal about the name of the grape.  He said that the grape has very thin skin and when lightly squeezed, it looks like tears coming out from the grape.  This wine has a very interesting nose. Raspberries with lychee!  It is dry, medium minus body, medium tannins, and a light mouth feel.  Raspberry, raspberry leaf and lychee on the palate.  A different, geeky wine.  This winery is not yet in BC, but you can get their wines in Alberta, Ontario and Quebec.

Monte Schiavo – Tenute Pieralisi Marzaiola Pieralisi For Friends Esino DOC 2013 – Made from a blend of 60% Sangiovese and 40% Merlot grapes. Nice ripe red fruit, cherries, and plum aromas.  Fuller body, dry, round and soft in the mouth.  Red fruit and cherry fruits, together with a floral hint and some oak/cedar.

When You Score A Touchdown, Get Off The Field | Mr. Media Training

When You Score A Touchdown, Get Off The Field | Mr. Media Training | Blogs | Scoop.it

You’ve just delivered the perfect media response. Your answer is on message and perfectly quotable. It will accomplish everything you had hoped.

Then…you say more.

It pains me to see an answer that was brilliant in its first 15 seconds become diluted when it lasts for another minute. An extended answer also risks introducing secondary and tertiary points that offer reporters the ability to quote something relatively unimportant. And sometimes, those unnecessarily long answers lead to a “seven-second stray,” an off-message line that becomes your only quote from the interview.

When I see our trainees deliver a great answer—and then keep going—I tell them this: “When you score a touchdown, get off the field!”...

How virtual reality holidays are moving to compete with the real thing

How virtual reality holidays are moving to compete with the real thing | Blogs | Scoop.it

A growing list of airlines and holiday spots are courting visitors with virtual experiences that offer options that nearly rival the real thing. If nothing else, VR can be a time-saver for travellers, as they can know what to expect and can allocate time to those activities they would like to visit at the destination. The technology's rising popularity is swelling the ranks of destinations telling their story with virtual reality apps growing. "For now, VR is the closest a traveller can get to the idea of physically being at a destination, but it can't replace the act of travel, it can only enhance it," CEO and Creative Director of Start VR. Apple has filed a patent that describes a network to link to the various electronic devices we wear.

WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT

Our body will soon become the center of a digital network, connecting the devices and sensors we wear but also I assume the ones we will have implanted in our heart, brain, muscles, etc. Much like the enterprise and the car have needed a network to enable and make communications seamless, this has the same potential.
