12 Reasons Why Hitting Publish is Only the Beginning of Content Marketing | Blogging | Scoop.it

Excellent tips for enhanced blog success... Most of us think our job is done after we hit the “Publish” button on WordPress. We take a deep breath, sit back in our chair, and congratulate ourselves on another article well done. Then we go back to pulling out what’s left of our hair, worrying about how to build more links. While we pull out our hair, though, we miss the Penguin and Panda memo: Content Marketing IS link building. By now you should already understand the limitless value of high quality content. I hope you understand that publishing lots of low or medium quality articles won’t help and that buying links or joining blog networks will only result in grief in the short or long term. The article you’ve just published should be full of actionable “gems” that will answer questions that your buyer personas are asking about your brand, industry or service. You’ve given them something of supreme value. And now the real work begins. Your job is not done after you publish your post. Publishing marks the beginning of the most important aspect of content creation: outreach and promotions. 12 Steps to take after you have written a new blog post....

Mark Sherbin always has great content tips to offer. Here, he asks the ever important question, "is your content getting the most out of its life?"

Philosophical as it may sound, it's a question that you should consider with each piece of content you produce. How can it be repurposed?

How To Find Great Keywords That Make Money

One of the most undervalued tasks of making money online is in the keyword research or the lack of good keyword research to get ranked in the search engines with the goal of being listed on the front page in order to get any real search traffic. So knowing how to find good keywords that make money from search traffic must be a priority to making money with your blog or website. The key to getting a lot of high quality, free traffic from the search engines is to put good content and offers in front those searching for that specific content. Although this is a simple concept, most new marketers and bloggers only select their keywords that interest them rather than their targeted audience or as an after-thought before publishing their posts. Although most internet marketers really do know where to find keywords that make money from search engine traffic, but the issue is that they use any keyword that comes to mind as they are publishing an article since they just spent time researching and writing vs. taking the the time upfront to be sure that the keyword meets some basic criteria first. There is far too often a rush to publish their posts vs. taking the appropriate time to find the right keywords properly first. Why Most New Marketer's Never Find Keywords That Rank And Get Any Traffic. For most new internet marketers, their #1 Stumbling Block is that they have problems generating traffic to their website or blog. The root cause is that they have selected keywords that either are overly competitive or just simply don't have enough searches or interest. Also, problems with low conversion rates are the result of the content not matching the offer or relevant to the keyword being searched by the user. Learning how to select good keywords that make money from search traffic should be understood before spending time and money blogging or developing websites that nobody will see. Simply put, a website with no traffic is a website with no profits at the end of the day. Since finding the right keywords also known as money keywords is critical to online success, then the trick is: How to pick keywords to rank for that get you results that is meaningful buyer traffic to your blog. Although selecting lucrative keywords is not really rocket science, there are some important criteria that are helpful to successful keyword research. So how do I find good keywords that I can rank for search traffic? Keywords should be relevant to your content and offer otherwise your readers will leave your site immediately if they do not find what they are searching for. Google offers a free keyword research tool at Google keyword tool external where you input the main keyword and the search will determine search traffic volume for the main keyword along with many other related keywords for your review. The keyword search volumes will display both global and local searches with local being the US for US searches. Depending upon your offer demographics, the local search volume may be most useful. Determining the true level of competition is the next step to see if you stand a reasonable chance of ranking vs. the competition. There are many techniques that marketers can use both paid and free methods to determine the real level of competition. When performing a google search for your keyword, it is easy to get overwhelmed by total search levels displayed. However, by adding the following search criteria in the google search, a truer picture of the number of sites actually competing for your keyword can be more encouraging. In the Google search input this exactly: intitle:"your keyword" url:"your keyword" inanchor:"your keyword". You can replace url with summary also or any combination you choose. This will result in the actual number of sites competing for the keyword. Each one of these competing sites will have the word or phrase in the title, URL, summary and anchor text. Continue to create your content and publish offers around the main keyword and relevant variations keeping in mind some basic on page seo techniques. After publishing your posts, continue to follow-up your posts with off-page seo backlinks from syndication, article submissions, commenting on high authority blog sites, etc. Did you know that The Empower Network provides an unfair advantage to ranking for your keywords through it's high authority viral blogging platform for any topic or program that you want?
