We put into place a blended learning management system which combines the best features of open and closed LMS. A system of WordPress blogs was used to make content available on the Web. Our closed LMS, Blackboard 9.x, was used for assessments, student discussions and the gradebook.

We’ve all had conversations with students who want effort counted in their grade: “But I tried so hard ... I studied for hours ... I am really working in this course.” The question is, should effort count?
Chet Chua's insight:

Student's effort should not count in overall grade, but student's wrong effort should be addressed by Instructors. Instructors should define clear learning outcomes so that students are in right track. Just my thoughts.
