Decide Between Online, Blended Courses - U.S. News & World Report | K-12 eLearning | Scoop.it
Students who pursue a mix of online and on-campus courses benefit from more networking opportunities.
Judy_P's insight:

"Blended learning approaches are more effective than traditional face to face instruction..."  Although, this article addresses higher ed, this also pertains to K-12.  A goal for districts should be how to offer similar menu of choices for students to choose from a combination of online, blended, and/or traditional classes.  It should be the choice of the student.  Student agency supporting personalized learning.  My sons are able to choose which courses they want to take as blended, fully online, and traditional based on subject and their preferences.  This should be offered to all students in all districts.  Prepares them for college as well.

10 Specific Ideas To Gamify Your Classroom

10 Specific Ideas To Gamify Your Classroom | K-12 eLearning | Scoop.it

10 Specific Ideas To Gamify Your Classroom by Mike Acedo In today’s classroom, educators are constantly required to mold their teaching methods to give students the best opportunity to succeed. It is not only imperative for students to learn the required material, but also critical that students gain a sense of confidence toward their work, and find motivation to expand their learning. However, this can be difficult for some students, who may struggle in traditional, lecture-based class styles. For some students, finding the motivation to complete homework or prepare for class can be a constant struggle, especially when every effort is met with a poor grade or frustration from teachers and parents. Therefore, teachers must become more and more creative when motivating students to learn.
