Referee Graham Salisbury

Fourth Official Tim Robinson
Barring a last minute change Referee Graham Salisbury will take charge of Saturdays Npower Championship game between Ipswich vs Blues at Portman Road

Salisbury has been a referee since 2001 so its quite surprising to learn he's only officiated Blues on a handful of ocassions, last time was in January in the Championship against Lee Clarks old team Huddersfield Town. Blues drew that game 1-1 with Callum Reilly getting his first professional goal.So far this season Mr Salisbury has reffered 40 games and dished out 125 yellow cards and 5 red. In his matches 7 penalties have been scored, 5 to the home side 2 to the away. His last five games in which he has officiated Ipswich Town they have won 2 drawn 2 and lost 1. Blues sign up Shinnie #bcfc

Blues sign up Shinnie #bcfc | birminghamcityforum.co.uk | Scoop.it

The Blues have today put the final touches to a pre-contract agreement

Inverness midfielder Andrew Shinnie has signed a pre-contract agreement with Birmingham City and will move to St Andrew's at the end of the season.

Shinnie has been one of Inverness' key performers this season as they have made a push for a place in Europe but his current contract is due to expire and an extension was not agreed.

Championship side Birmingham City made an approach to the player and have announced that he has completed a medical with them and will move south this summer.

Shinnie has agreed to sign a three-year-deal with the Blues.

Inverness manager Terry Butcher had previously conceded that he was likely to lose Shinnie.

"I think he’ll be away from here," Butcher said in March. "I think he should stay, but that is his call.

"We’re probably looking beyond Andy now and who can come in to replace him."

seems like a great signing

so it looks like the club have sold two players without anyone knowing, except of course the players and their agents and most probably the management team at Blues

my problem with that is, if its a secret they've been sold, which club holds the registrations? if it is Blues, how have they been sold?, and if its not Blues those players must have been loaned back. But how is that possible without that info being release to the media?

Pre contract agreements maybe with the buying clubs getting first dibs on those players?

my money is on Nathan Redmond and Curtis Davies

Clark backs Elliot to bag more #bcfc

Clark backs Elliot to bag more #bcfc | birminghamcityforum.co.uk | Scoop.it

Lee Clark has backed Wade Elliot to continue scoring despite blazing over when it looked easier to score against Blackpool. Clark said "Wade passed up a glorious chance to snatch all three points for us in the 87th minute against Blackpool, somehow blazing over his shot from six yards with the goal at his mercy although the ball may possibly have taken a slight bobble."

But Clark is hoping the midfielder, who has six goals to his name this season, finds himself in exactly the same spot against Derby at St Andrew's this weekend.

"He's been fantastic for us this season and he'll never be criticised by me or anybody in the dressing room," Clark added. "I want him on Saturday to be in the same position to miss the same chance, because I know the next 1,000 times he has that opportunity on the training pitch or in matches he'll just bang it in." #bcfc bcfcfan.co.uk

NPower Championship
Peterborough vs Birmingham City
Referee MICK RUSSELL
Ollie Yates and Matt Foley
Fourth Official Carl Fitch
Referee MICK RUSSELL will take charge of tomorrrows match with The Posh.  He last reffed Blues in the 2-3 Home defeat to Hull City, ex Blues player Sone Aluko came back to haunt us with a Brace, In that game he booked Zigic. he has reffed Blues 5 times in the past with 2 wins and 3 defeats. a full account of Mick Russells stats vs Blues can be found by joining birminghamcityforum.co.uk

Looking around online and Mick Russell has not got a lot of people saying good things about him especially Doncaster Rovers fans, He also caused controversy In December after booking the same Sheffield Wednesday player (Jeremy Helan) twice during a match but failed to send him off! The Independent called it a "Staggering Error"

Mr Russell was taken off refereeing duties while investigations took place and this will be his first Championship match since that fixture. This season he has officiated in 34 games and given out 75 yellow cards and 4 red cards (2 home and 2 away, 2 of the cards have come in the last minutes of a game so maybe he gets bored, lol. Penalties scored this season in his games are 15, which is a hell of a lot (Home 8 Away 7) in 34 games.

In the past he has awarded Blues two penalties and none against with a 40% win rate for Blues from the fivegames he has reffed Blues. Posh last had Mick Russell take charge of them two seasons ago when Posh drew 1-1 with Lee Clark's unbeatable Huddersfield Town. Four yellow cards were issued with both sides receiving two apiece. He gave Posh a Penalty that day. #bcfc bcfcfan.co.uk

Birmingham shun Chinese interest in Marlon King #bcfc bcfcfan.co.uk | birminghamcityforum.co.uk | Scoop.it

Birmingham City have rejected an approach from Shanghai Shenhua for Marlon King.

The Chinese giants have just lost Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka back to Europe, and they are looking to bolster their striking options.

The 32-year-old Jamaican international, who has 13 goals already this season, emerged as one of their top targets.

The Chinese transfer window does not close until the beginning of March, meaning they can still sign players from other countries - whose own domestic windows have shut.

However, Birmingham - who were listening to offers for all of their squad in January - have decided against letting King leave. #bcfc bcfcfan.co.uk

Birmingham tell Marlon King and a number of players to try and find new club #bcfc | birminghamcityforum.co.uk | Scoop.it

Sky Sports understands that Marlon King is one of a host of Birmingham's players told they can find new clubs, due to Blues' financial situation.

The 32-year-old, who has scored over 30 goals since he joined Birmingham in 2011 from Midlands rivals Coventry City, is currently top-scorer for the club.

But Birmingham are struggling hugely financially and are understood to have told a number of players that if they find a new club they would be able to leave.

And Sky Sports understands that King could leave on a free transfer, despite having 18 months left on his current deal.

While King is settled at St Andrew's and is happy, a host of clubs have been alerted to the fact he could be available.

Former club Wigan, Norwich, Cardiff, Blackburn, Bolton and Nottingham Forest are thought to be monitoring his situation.

Along with King is it thought that the futures of big names such as Jack Butland, Nathan Redmond, Chris Burke and Nikola Zigic are very much up in the air. #bcfc bcfcfan.co.uk

Blues to Plunder Scotland Again #bcfc | birminghamcityforum.co.uk | Scoop.it

Birmingham City manager Lee Clark has turned his attention to Scotland again in his attempts to stabalise a Blues squad facing multple departures when this season ends. Motherwells Keeper Darren Randolph is top of Lee Clark's shopping list as a replacement for Jack Butland who will be joining his parent club Stoke City when his loan period ends when Blues face Blackburn Rovers in 10 days time at St Andrews to seal his January Transfer and Lee Clark is wasting no time in the market having already secured Andrew Shinnie from Inverness

Shinnie has signed a pre-contract agreement with Blues. And have already had a look at three Ayr United players with David Sinclair, Mark Shankland and Robbie Crawford having a trial with Blues. However nothing seems to have been agreed between the two clubs.

Darren Randolph is currently with Motherwell, but his three year contract expires in the summer and Clark is interested in bringing the 25 year old to St Andrews on a Bosman move. Randolph has been an ever present between the sticks this season making 39 appearances with the Well currently lying 2nd in the SPL.

Fourth Official Geoff Law
Referee Stuart Attwell will take charge of Tuesdays nPower Championship game between Blues and Sheffield Wednesday
The Lancashire official has officiated Blues three times previously. A full account of his stats vs Blues can be found on the forum bcfcfan.co.uk

Attwell made a prominent debut in 2008 as the youngest person ever to referee in the Premier League, however Attwell and one of his assistants, Nigel Bannister, were heavily censured for a decision to award an early goal to Reading in a Championship game at Watford on 20 September 2008. Bannister flagged for a goal instead of a corner kick after Watford's John Eustace played the ball over the byline - four yards wide of the goal post - before Reading's Noel Hunt hooked it back into play. Attwell awarded Reading a goal. The incident, dubbed in the media as a "ghost goal", led to both Attwell and Bannister being dropped from their duties the following weekend. In February 2012, Attwell was demoted from the list of Select Group Referees and returned to Football League duty on the National List. The move was said to come by mutual consent. The last time he reffed Blues was earlier this season when Mick McCarthys new charges came to St Andrews and beat us 1-0.

This Season Attwell has officiated in 31 games, and given out 86 yellow cards and 2 reds, both players sent off played for the away side. This season 3 penalties have been scored in his matches, 1 home 2 x away

His last game officiating Sheffield Wednesday was a 1-0 away win at Barnsley in December 2012 and prior to that a 2-2 draw vs Newcastle #bcfc bcfcfan.co.uk

Blues swoop for Wes Thomas #bcfc bcfcfan.co.uk

Blues swoop for Wes Thomas #bcfc bcfcfan.co.uk | birminghamcityforum.co.uk | Scoop.it
Striker Wes Thomas has joined Blues on loan until the end of the season from Bournemouth.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed two successful loan spells under the management of Michael Appleton this season, at Portsmouth and Blackpool respectively, and will now be looking to continue that fine form at St. Andrew’s.

The Londoner joined the promotion-chasing Cherries on a permanent basis last January having initially impressed on loan from Crawley Town.

And Blues boss Lee Clark has admitted to bcfc.com that he’s been a big admirer of his new recruit for some time.

Clark explained: “I first became aware of Wes at Bournemouth when I was Huddersfield Town manager and I’ve always rated him highly.

“He’s strong in possession, very quick, has an eye for goal and is capable of playing in a pair or as a lone frontman. He’s already done well in the Championship with Blackpool this season and he’s a young and hungry player who wants to keep on improving.

“Wes fits the bill as he’s exactly the type of player that I’ve been looking for.”

Thomas cut his teeth in the non-league game with Waltham Forest, Thurrock and Fisher Athletic before joining Dagenham & Redbridge.  Following loan spells at Grays Athletic and Rushden & Diamonds, the goal-getter joined Cheltenham Town before moving to Crawley.

Thomas joins Blues on a standard loan with no option to recall in place.
