A position of Professor in quantitative fish and fisheries ecology is available within the Faculty of Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences at the Department of Aquatic Resources, SLU. The Department consists of three main units: Marine Research in Lysekil, Coastal Research in Öregrund, and Freshwater Research in Drottningholm. The Department conducts research in the fields of aquatic population and community ecology, ecosystem dynamics and fish and fisheries ecology, which includes fish stock analyses and identification, population genetics, and the development of environmentally friendly fishing equipment. Aquatic resource and environmental analysis constitutes an important part of the Department’s activities, as well as national and international consulting services. The professorship will be placed at one of the Department’s units.
Subject area: Quantitative fish and fisheries ecology with emphasis on any of the areas:
ecological interactions,anthropogenic and natural impacts on fish resources and fishery dynamics including, for example, stock assessmentstatistical modeling of fish and fisheries datapopulation- and ecosystem modeling.
