BioEmarket The Global Organic E-Marketplace's insight:

Health seems to become a disputed subject nowadays. When our grandparents were kids, there was the herbal medicine that was making the difference and was helping people stay alive and healthy, but all we hear talking about these days is the development of the medicine and the technology that could (just could!) help us maintain our health.

When I was a kid, my mother used to make remedies out of plants and vegetables for all kind of pain and diseases. Now, there are pills for everything, even for sleeping or depression. We’ve become some kind of robots, programmed to work and work and get angry and stressed every time something goes wrong.

We forgot to smile or take things slowly, we are always in a rush and we don’t realize that all that stress brings is disease. Because when we are under pressure, our immune system is low. And that’s how we get ill.

Everybody is hurrying. People run after the train, after the bus, money or better jobs.  In this rush, we forget to take care of us, being so preoccupied by how not to be late for work or how to make more money to buy that spectacular house we saw or how to have a perfect and satisfying job or relationship. In all the rush, we forget about ourselves.

We don’t get to eat regularly, we don’t get to sleep 8 hours a night and we don’t get to drink enough water to keep our body hydrated. We forget to save time for ourselves or doing those small things that make us happy and distract us from our daily rush. We forgot about our soul...

BioEmarket The Global Organic E-Marketplace's insight:

Change isn’t always an option. And I haven’t seen too many people reacting positively to a change, unless it brought them money or other advantages.

But when change can be an option and you know it could influence your whole existence in a positive way, why wouldn’t you embrace it with all your heart?

Usually, people begin a change with: ‘’let’s see what it brings.’’ But before we say that, we always, but always make some research. That’s how we are, precautious. And it’s a good thing.

For example, I decided I wanted to take a better care of myself, so I thought about making a change. I wanted to be healthier. Besides sports, I decided I wanted to start eating more organic vegetables and fruits. No more fries, no more chicken wings, no more sweets… Oh…  I guess I can make an exception regarding the last category...:)

Before I start, I wanted to make sure that it was a good idea, so I began searching for some opinions. That’s how I found out some of the benefits of the organic food. But first, what does ‘’organic’’ mean?

This term is used to express the way the agricultural products are grown: no pesticides added, no chemical fertilizers and, in the case of animals, no hormones given for growth.

Natural & Organic Products Europe 2014 unveils new exhibitors for its biggest edition yet | BioEmarket - Global Organic E-Marketplace B2B Platform - News

Natural & Organic Products Europe 2014 unveils new exhibitors for its biggest edition yet | BioEmarket - Global Organic E-Marketplace B2B Platform - News | BioEmarket supports Global Organic Market | Scoop.it
On our website you will find information and news about organic food like organic milk, organic sugar products, organic drinks and more products.
BioEmarket The Global Organic E-Marketplace's insight:

Nearly a quarter of the countries in the world will be represented at this year’s Natural & Organic Products Europe, when it returns to London’s Olympia on 13-14 April.

Firmly established as Europe’s leading natural and organic trade event, the show, which has increased its exhibition space by 11% for 2014, is now completely sold out.  Event organiser Diversified Communications UK says that the strong exhibitor uptake paints an encouraging picture of growing market confidence.

Similarly, the event’s New Products Showcase is now also fully booked with a record 279 entries (up 12% on the same time last year).

As a snapshot of the natural and organic market, the 2013 event certainly reflected a more buoyant mood than in recent years (attendance was a significant 20% up on 2012, for one).  Feedback from the show floor saw many delighted exhibitors commenting that the attendees – 8,810 in all – were ready and, perhaps more importantly, able to do business.  While 92% of surveyed visitors rated their show experience as excellent/good.

For 2014, Natural & Organic Products Europe is looking to build on that success, with an unprecedented 550 companies from 45 countries preparing to showcase thousands of brands (including food, drink, health, nutrition, personal care, beauty and eco-living products) when doors open next month.

So what can visitors expect from the biggest edition in the event’s 18 year history?  More new companies for a start – including (the most recent additions to the exhibitor list) organic skincare specialist c/o GERD from Swedish Lapland; VIVAcity Dead Sea Beauty Products from Jordan; TanOrganic, the world’s first eco-certified aloe vera based self-tanning brand, from Ireland; and Oz Garcia (the celebrated American nutritionist is promoting his Brain Enhancement supplement and Pure Artic Oils).

And from the UK, there’s Silk + Honey, promoting its luxury, all-natural, do-it-yourself beauty products; Ultra Bee, with its new bee venom skin care range; and cold pressed juice company Plenish Cleanse.

With all the stands booked, many of the show’s pavilion participants have also now been confirmed.

Greenpeace identified several bee-killers that need to be banned as a priority | BioEmarket - Global Organic E-Marketplace B2B Platform - News | BioEmarket supports Global Organic Market | Scoop.it

Imagine that you are a distributor / buyer / wholesaler / importer / restaurant / on-line store and you want to find some producers of Organic products and of course, the Internet is full of them and you are confused on how many they are.

But, if the producers are placed together in an unique place, a so-called On-line Marketplace and you could communicate with them, inquiry about their products, create a partnership and make business with them ?

It will definitely help you by creating new opportunities of sales, reducing costs and time of searching, increasing your business to ANOTHER level.

BioEmarket will make things easier by supporting you to GROW ORGANIC.

BioEmarket The Global Organic E-Marketplace's insight:

A crucial first step toward saving the bees and agriculture is banning the use of bee-killing chemical pesticides. Greenpeace identified several bee-killers that need to be banned as a priority: This list includes:  imidacloprid, thiamethoxam, clothianidin, fipronil, chlorpyriphos, cypermethrin and deltamethrin.

In April 2013, a majority of EU countries supported the European Commission proposal to temporarily restrict the use of three pesticides that are scientifically shown to be harmful to bees produced by chemical companies Bayer and Syngenta. Partial bans of neonicotinoids were already in place in Italy, France, Germany and Slovenia, with no significant negative impacts on agricultural production, but some positive effects on the health of the bees.

But this is not enough. Taking measures to promote biodiversity on farmland and protect the ecosystems that are still intact is needed to give bees the environment they need to live. Building hedgerows and creating wild-flower areas, along with networked habitats, help the bees too - but banning bee-killer pesticides is a crucial first step to save the bees and agriculture in Europe.

Luckily, ecological farming (farming without chemical pesticides and instead with high biodiversity) is increasingly in demand by consumers and is becoming widespread in many countries, including most of Europe. Chemical pest control is repleaced with other practices, such as beneficial insects or the planting of pest-repelling plants in the fields and in pest-attractive areas surrounding them.

BioEmarket The Global Organic E-Marketplace's insight:

The Triodos Organic Growth Fund is a sub-fund of Triodos SICAV II, an unlisted investment fund based in Luxemburg. The Triodos Organic Growth Fund is semi open-ended in structure and is traded on a quarterly basis, at net asset value.

About the fund

Launched in January 2014, Triodos Organic Growth Fund is a long-term oriented private equity impact investment fund.

Frontrunners

The fund provides mission-aligned capital to leading later-stage organic and sustainable consumer business across Europe, with a focus on food & beverages, natural textiles, natural personal care and other sustainable consumer products. These frontrunners are central actors in maturing and rapidly expanding markets, and key in the transition to a sustainable lifestyle and economy.

Mission-aligned

These are privately held values-driven businesses seeking capital for further growth without compromising on their core values and social or environmental objectives. In Triodos Organic Growth Fund they find a strongly aligned, long-term and mission-driven shareholder that addresses their funding needs and contributes to the further growth of their businesses.

Investing with impact

Further growth of these businesses will increase the market share of organic food and sustainable consumer products in Europe, thereby providing positive social, environmental and economic impacts.

Providing mission-aligned capital to leading European organic and sustainable consumer businessesA new model in impact investing: mission-aligned equity, with a long-term focus, not driven by exitsBalanced return with significant positive environmental and social impactFor qualified investors with a minimum ticket size of EUR 250,000

Triodos Investment Management announces the launch of the Triodos Organic Growth Fund, a unique new long-term evergreen fund, which will provide equity to leading organic food companies and sustainable consumer businesses across Europe.

The fund starts with EUR 25.3 million, provided by committed private and institutional impact investors, including Netherlands-based insurance company Achmea. Triodos Organic Growth Fund aims to grow further to EUR 150 million.

With the launch of this fund, Triodos Investment Management is pioneering a new model for impact investing: mission aligned private equity, with a long-term focus, not driven by exits. This is crucial for the further expansion of the fast growing sector for organic food and sustainable consumer products in Europe.

The frontrunners in this sector, now mature companies, are hampered in their growth by the lack of long term capital that is aligned with their companies’ missions and values. These companies seek capital without being disadvantaged by short-term focussed investors.

BioEmarket The Global Organic E-Marketplace's insight:

In my previous article I dared to talk about change. I dared to urge my readers to dream about a different world, a world full of compassion and love. Everybody wishes for a better world, but we all expect others to start doing something.

We have the wrong impression that we would be alone against the storm if we start changing things on our own. Nothing more false than this!

The change starts with love. And the most important of love types is the love you have for yourself. That kind of love that makes you see the world with another eyes, that makes you kind and tolerant with yourself, but, at the same time, firm and unwavering. Love comes with inner strength. It’s a full package given to us as a treasure we ought to become aware of later...

BioEmarket The Global Organic E-Marketplace's insight:

Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) is developing a new environmental standard for textiles and leather.

Products that could be certified under the standard include textile products such as clothing and textiles for use in clothing, bedding, decorative applications and fittings sold in the Australian market.

This includes clothing, clothing textiles and accessories consisting of at least 90 per cent by weight of textile fibres, interior textiles consisting of at least 90 per cent by weight of textile fibres, fibre, yarn and fabric (including durable non-woven fabric) intended for use in textile clothing, accessories or interior textiles, cleaning products: woven or non-woven fabric products intended for the wet or dry cleaning of surfaces and the drying of kitchenware, and hide and leather products consisting of at least 90 per cent by weight of leather/hide.

When GECA released its revised draft textiles standard (2012), which was developed in conjunction with Environmental Choice New Zealand (ECNZ), it received comments on many criteria. GECA has addressed these comments and has also aligned its standard with the EU Ecolabel criteria for textiles, where possible.

GECA is keen to receive feedback from industry professionals and members of the public interested in sustainable textiles until 14 February, 2014. More information and a PDF version of the draft standard are available here.

BioEmarket The Global Organic E-Marketplace's insight:

8th European Bioplastics Conference held in 10 and 11 December in Berlin, Germany

„Bioplastics made from bio-feedstock, and reintegrated into the biosphere as a nutrient, or recycled together with conventional plastic, clearly have a potential for being a truly sustainable material. And it could reduce fossil fuel consumption,“ stated EU Environment Commissioner Janez Potočnik in his opening speech to the 8th European Bioplastics Conference on the 10 and 11 December in Berlin, Germany. In his video message he pointed to the crucial role, bioplastics can play in Europe‘s transition towards a circular biobased economy.

Potočnik encouraged the bioplastics industry „to continue their work on making bioplastics a truly sustainable material, neutral in its impact on food production and biodiversity“. However, he also pointed out that the industry needs to continuously and transparently inform the public about their products and processes in order to clarify its position and prosper in the future.

These recommendations were picked up directly by a group of experts in a panel discussion on sustainability criteria investigating the most relevant question: „How to assess the sustainability of bioplastics in a fair way?“. The panel started with a presentation by Professor Matthias Finkbeiner from the Technical University Berlin on „Perspectives of Life Cycle Assessment of Bioplastics“. „LCA is still the best available tool to assess the environmental performance of bioplastics as fact-based as possible“, Finkbeiner stated and commented on the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) approach introduced by the European Commission as „LCA overkill introducing pseudo solutions in order to achieve comparability“.

The panel discussion then focussed on the need to break down the complexity of assessing the sustainability of bioplastics, the need to use available and valid methodologies and to provide easy to use tools to consumers to understand these assessments and how they impact on the product they are using.

Glasgow 2014 unveiled its Commonwealth Games Food Charter that all appointed caterers to the event will be required to sign up to.

The legacy of the Food Charter will see it act as a blueprint for major sporting and cultural events held in Scotland beyond the Games.

As well as showcasing the Scottish larder, it outlines a commitment to the ethical, safe, and healthy-living standards for all food served across the Games, including traceability.

The provenance of food, where it comes from and how it has been produced, is central to the Charter which will establish Games-time food sourcing standards.

The Food Charter has been developed with advice from a range of stakeholders, including government agencies, educators, health agencies, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and communities to help them achieve their aims:

BioEmarket The Global Organic E-Marketplace's insight:

Visitor registration for Natural & Organic Products Europe is now officially open for its 2014 event, which will take place at London’s Olympia on 13-14 April.  Today’s announcement kicks off the countdown to what is widely regarded as the flagship trade event for the European natural and organic products industries.

Innovative, inspiring, buzzing, brilliant, and essential – these are just some of the words attendees used to describe the 2013 show, which enjoyed record attendance of 8,810 (up 20% from 2012) just over eight months ago.  Feedback from the show floor saw many delighted exhibitors commenting that it was their best event in years.  Similarly, 92% of surveyed visitors rated their show experience as excellent/good.

Richard Anderton, product manager at The Health Store was just one of thousands of visitors who left Natural & Organic Products Europe with a host of new business contacts:  “There is a really positive vibe this year, some great new and interesting products and it’s also been great to catch up with existing suppliers.  I’ve been coming to the show for 9 years and think it’s the best show yet!”

For 2014, organiser Diversified Communications UK is looking to build on that momentum.  The promise of a sell-out show (it is already over 90% booked) has prompted a 10% expansion in exhibition space to accommodate increasing demand from new companies. With over a third of confirmed exhibitors, to date, set to make their show debut next April.

BioEmarket The Global Organic E-Marketplace's insight:

The European Commission has published a Report on " Agricultural Genetic Resources - from conservation to sustainable use" outlining Commission aims for the period until 2020.

While issues of conservation and halting biodiversity loss in agriculture remain a central element, the report highlights the need for a change of rationale with greater emphasis on an increased sustainable use of our genetic resources such as traditional or endangered breeds of animals or plants.

The report is accompanied by a second document, reporting on existing programmes, as required by the end of 2013 under the current regulation.

Commenting on the Commission report, EU Agriculture and Rural Development Commissioner Dacian Cioloş said : "It is very important that actions on genetic resources go beyond conservation. Genetic material offers huge resources not only in terms of economic benefits, but also to help address the challenges we face such as climate change, plant resistance to pests, productivity, diverse consumer demands, and economic development in rural areas. We must valorise as much as possible the diversity of genetic materials at our disposal".

This change of approach is reflected in the broadening of the tools supporting efforts to better use genetic resources, so that by 2020 greater financial resources and a wider range of funding opportunities are available.

From 2014, several EU policy instruments and tools will be put together in a coherent and complementary way to support this aim, both under the Common Agricultural Policy's rural development measures and under the EU Research and Innovation Framework "Horizon 2020", opening the door for further opportunities for investment, collaboration and the exchange of best practices.

A raft of new health, nutrition and beauty products are set to hit the market at Natural & Organic Products Europe 2014, as hundreds of new companies from around the world prepare to exhibit at Europe’s leading trade event for the natural and organic sectors.  Returning to London’s Olympia on 13-14 April, the show looks set for another record-breaking edition, with visitor pre-registrations already up over 30% on the same time last year.

To accommodate increasing demand from new companies looking to reach the show’s growing visitor-base (attendance was 8,810 in 2013, up 20% from 2012), organiser Diversified Communications UK has expanded its exhibition space by 11% for 2014 to fill the entire Grand Hall (its biggest growth since 2011). Today, much of this has already been booked, with only eight stands now left to fill.

This strong exhibitor uptake paints an encouraging picture of growing market confidence; with many natural and organic companies finally looking to shake off the cloak of recession and increase their sales and brand awareness at the show.

New companies have been quick to reserve their first stands, and many returning exhibitors – such as ReNew Life UK, Potter’s Herbals, Nordic Naturals, Higher Nature, Tiana Fair Trade Organics, Sukrin, Suma Wholefoods, and Supernutrients – have increased the size of theirs for 2014.

The result is that this year’s show – the 18th annual Natural & Organic Products Europe, is already being heralded as its biggest: with more products on offer than ever before.

BioEmarket The Global Organic E-Marketplace's insight:

Ministers meeting at the general affairs Council in Brussels on 11 February 2014 will consider the authorization for the cultivation of a genetically modified (GM) maize produced by agrochemical firm DuPont Pioneer and known as 1507.

The EU’s own food safety authority has recognized the GM crop’s toxicity on butterflies and moths and warned about gaps in testing on the effects of 1507. The authorization faces strong political opposition, as well as legal obstacles.

Greenpeace is calling on the European Commission to listen to the scientific, political and legal arguments and withdraw its proposal to authorize the crop.

The GM crop 1507 is engineered to produce a pesticide called Bt, which is toxic to insect pests. Since 2011, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has repeatedly highlighted the impacts of the toxin released by 1507 on important pollinators, such as butterflies and moths [1]. As a result, the Commission twice asked DuPont Pioneer to submit more evidence proving that 1507 was safe [2]. DuPont Pioneer has so far refused to do so, but the Commission has nonetheless decided to call on EU ministers to approve the GM crop.

The maize is also engineered to be resistant to glufosinate ammonium. This herbicide will be banned in the EU due to its toxicity. Under EU law, all GM crops tolerant to herbicides must be subjected to a specific risk assessment. Such an assessment has not been carried out on 1507.

Political opposition

A large majority of EU countries is likely to oppose the authorization of 1507. According to EU rules, a “qualified’ majority” is required for a Commission proposal to be approved or rejected. If such a majority is not reached, the Commission can decide whether to authorize or reject the crop.

However, if a predominant majority of countries expresses a clear opposition to a proposal, the Commission has said it would be prepared to reconsider. It has declared previously that it would “act in such a way as to avoid going against any predominant position which might emerge against the appropriateness of an implementing measure” [3].

France, Italy, Austria, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Denmark, Malta, Luxembourg, Greece, Romania and Hungary have all signaled their opposition to the authorization. The UK, Sweden, Finland, Spain and Estonia are the only countries who are known to be in favor of an approval, while Germany and Bulgaria suggested they would abstain [4].

In a vote in January, the European Parliament also called on the Commission to withdraw the authorization proposal [5].  Greenpeace EU agriculture policy director Marco Contiero said: “The approval of this crop would be utterly irresponsible and legally flawed. The EU's own safety testing has shown that it is harmful to butterflies and moths and that there are still significant gaps in safety testing. On top of that, the GM crop would encourage use of a herbicide so toxic that it will be banned in Europe by 2017.”

BioEmarket The Global Organic E-Marketplace's insight:

In 2012 the European Organic Market grew by approximately six percent to a value of almost € 23,000 M. Consumers in the European Union spent close to € 21,000 M on organic foods. While sales in some countries were rather stagnating in the course of 2012, other countries displayed strong growth. The latter include Finland (+24%), Norway (+17.2%) and the Netherlands (+14.2%). In the United Kingdom however, retail sales declined the years before but have shown renewed growth in 2013. These figures were collected by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) and the Agricultural Market Information company AMI and further partners of the OrganicDataNetwork project.

The area under organic management in Europe increased to more than 11 million hectares in 2012, comprising 2.3% of the European agricultural area. In the European Union approximately ten million hectares, or 5.6% of the total agricultural area, were managed organically.

Germany continued to be the largest market for organic products in Europe with a turnover of € 7,040 M in 2012. The turnover in France increased markedly to € 4,040 M, Switzerland had the highest annual per capita spending on organic products worldwide (€ 189). Germany occupied the middle ground with a per capita spending of € 86.

The Organic Data Network’s data analysis has shown that fruit and vegetables are not only pioneering products in the organic market in many European countries but also continued to hold particularly high market shares in 2011 and 2012, accounting for between a third and a fifth of sales in the national organic markets. Sales of organic fruit and vegetables are particularly significant in Italy, Ireland, Norway, Sweden and Germany...

Every day starts with a promise. I woke up yesterday making myself a promise: I will start acting, but keep on dreaming at the same time. I want to contribute at making a better world, so I spread the news: we all can do what we dream about… But only if we have faith and only if we have courage.

I had a plan in mind: growing tomatoes in an environment- friendly manner is a part of it. I always thought that taking care of what surrounds you is a proof of wisdow; as if you’d really understand that you are connected to it. So I made some research: would it be possible for me, as an individual, to grow organic tomatoes without having a farm? Surprisingly, the answer is… yes! With care and love, with devotion and commitment, growing organic tomatoes without having a farm is possible. Luckily, tomatoes are among the easiest vegetables to grow.

If you have a small garden, you just need a couple of tips and tricks about how to better grow your own tomatoes. Below you can find a few of them, written briefly....

BioEmarket The Global Organic E-Marketplace's insight:

Organic is a production term – it does not address the quality, safety or nutritional value of a product.

Both conventional and organic farming emphasizes preventative practices that include crop rotation, mixed plantings and beneficial insects to manage pests and maintain and improve soil quality. Ideally, both conventional and organic farming typically rely on the use of pesticides as a last resort to control pests and diseases on crops.

Organic farmers can use pesticides derived from natural sources and pesticides that include synthetic substances within the regulations of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Organic Program (NOP) if other strategies and cultural management practices fail to control pests and diseases.

The National List of Allowed and Prohibited Substances managed by the NOP identifies synthetic substances that may be used on organic crops as well as nonsynthetic, or natural substances, that are prohibited in organic crop production. The NOP does not specifically list each allowable natural substance, but rather criteria for determining if a substance is natural.

Natural pesticides, including products with plant- and mineral-based ingredients and microorganisms, are widely accepted for use in organic crop production. Overall, organic farmers have very limited chemical tools available to them to control pests because there are far fewer insecticides, fungicides and herbicides allowed for application on organic crops.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) allows a claim on a pesticide label that the product can be used for organic production if its ingredients meet USDA standards. The NOP’s National Organic Standards Board, an appointed citizens advisory board, recommends adding substances in pesticide products to the National List.

Recommendations to remove a substance are made to the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. The board usually acts in response to a petition from the public. Every substance on the National List is reviewed every five years for continued use in organic production.

Data on pesticide use in organic farming are limited.

Due to their low toxicity, many of the natural pesticides are exempt from the U.S. EPA requirement for a tolerance level, or allowable limit, for residues on food.

BioEmarket The Global Organic E-Marketplace's insight:

The Organic Trade Association (OTA) today announced the appointment of a new CEO/Executive Director, with Laura Batcha now on board as the fourth executive director in the association's 29-year history. OTA is the North American membership-based trade association whose mission is to promote and protect the growth of organic trade to benefit the environment, farmers, the public and the economy.

Batcha most recently served as OTA’s Executive Vice President and Interim Co-Executive Director. “I am certain that with Laura’s executive leadership at OTA, we are well positioned for success in the coming years,” said Melody Meyer, President of OTA’s Board of Directors. Meyer added, “OTA has achieved many major milestones during the past few years, including establishing a Farmers Advisory Council (FAC), creating a bi-partisan Political Action Committee, and bringing The Organic Center under the OTA umbrella. OTA also has begun the critical conversation of exploring the potential for an Organic Research and Promotion Program.”

"Organic food and farming, with their entrepreneurial spirit and proven benefits to public health and the environment, make a real difference in the lives of both farmers and consumers. At the same time, organic commerce is also making an increasingly significant contribution to the economy as a whole,” said Batcha, OTA’s incoming CEO/Executive Director. She added, “I look forward to working directly with OTA members and its Board to strengthen the integrity of organic, enhance the business climate to support the increasing consumer demand for organic products, and advance the goal of increasing acres under organic production.”

Batcha currently serves as the Chair of OTA’s Political Action Committee. She has been appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture and has served as a representative of the organic industry on two separate Federal Advisory Committees. The first, AC21, advises on issues related to coexistence of biotechnology and organic and identity-preserved agriculture. The second, APAC, is the agricultural policy advisory committee dedicated to international trade.

In her new role as CEO/Executive Director, she also will serve on the Board of Trustees for The Organic Center, an independent non-profit research and education organization operating under the administrative auspices of the Organic Trade Association.

Fairtrade is an alternative approach to conventional trade based on a partnership between producers and traders, businesses and consumers.

Fairtrade offers producers a better deal and improved terms of trade. It allows them the opportunity to improve their lives and invest in their future, their environment and their communities. Fairtrade offers consumers a powerful way to reduce poverty and ensure environmental sustainability through their everyday buying decisions.

Fairtrade is the world’s most recognised ethical label that aims to connect disadvantaged producers with businesses and consumers at fair prices. They have been working with farmers and workers in India for over 19 years to supply Fairtrade products to the international markets, returning nearly Rs. 20 additional crores to Indian farmers and workers in the last year alone.

Whether you’re a farmer, a consumer, a civil society organisation, a retailer or a business, there is a place for you in their growing movement.
