Forests not only contribute to diverse and nutritious diets, particularly for the poorest members of society, but also sustain agriculture through the provision of critical ecosystem services such as pollination, soil stabilization and watershed protection. May 12, 2013 Focuing On Wildlife Rivers in India, especially the Ganga, Yamuna and Brahmaputra all carry a potent spiritual significance. Not only are these water way responsible for sustenance, they are also believed to be living goddesses blessing the land with their bounties. Immersing one’s ashes in the Ganga is said to free you from the karmic cycle of rebirth. Sadly however, most of India’s numerous rivers are heavily polluted with effluents and toxic waste from industries. Although the government has been spending heavily in the cleanup of water ways, there is not much to show for it. Palm oil, which is currently the world’s most used vegetable oil, is found in thousands of products we use every day. It’s not only used for cooking, but can also be found in everything from candy bars and cookies to cleaning products and shampoo and even fuel. Among the report's, Assessing Risks to Endangered and Threatened Species from Pesticides recommendations are that EPA more broadly account for pesticides’ direct and indirect harm to wildlife—including harm that is not immediately lethal, and impacts to food supply and habitat—and better consider the combined effects of exposure to multiple pesticides mixing in the environment.... We have to stop subsidizing these multi-billion profit multi-nationals. Who says Monsanto and crew don't run our government? The generically engineered and biotechnology cartels have tied the slick pr for biofuels (heavily subsidized by US Government) to their generically engineered seed and crops, chemicals and pesticides. Now they want our prestine public federal lands, free of charge, to destroy our ecosystems and all life within them for the hyped need for biofuels that increasingly are showing up to destroy our environment, create heightened CO2 when burned exacerbating climate change; while taking millions from our taxes and cornering the biomass markets worldwide.
