Writing in a Second Language by Joanna Zgadzaj | bini2bini | Scoop.it

The Foreign Language of 'Mad Men'

The Foreign Language of 'Mad Men' | bini2bini | Scoop.it

The show prides itself for historical accuracy—but do the characters really talk like people from the '60s? With Mad Men's return on Sunday comes the return of the paeans to the show's attention to period detail. Why study Economics in a Foreign Language? | bini2bini | Scoop.it

No matter which foreign language one chooses to learn, researchers at the University of Chicago have proven that economists benefit from studying in a non-native tongue. Patrick M. Erben: Learning Foreign Languages Increases Inter-Human Understanding

Patrick M. Erben: Learning Foreign Languages Increases Inter-Human Understanding | bini2bini | Scoop.it

Today we welcome a guest post from Patrick M. Erben, author of A Harmony of the Spirits: Translation and the Language of Community in Early Pennsylvania. In the book, Erben challenges the long-standing historical myth that language diversity posed a threat to communal coherence.
