El tema para mi investigación es sobre el mantenimiento del español. Este artículo menciona que muchas veces las personas de segunda generación prefieren hablar inglés. Basado en lo que he visto con mis amigos, muchos de ellos prefieren comunicarse en ingles. También me he dado cuenta que los que hablan mas español son los que viven en una zona fronteriza o los que platican con su familia, y este artículo es prueba de esta situación. Es interesante que los méxico-americanos sean los que más retienen el español comparado con los otros grupos hispanos en los Estados Unidos. Supongo que esto ocurre porque México colinda con los Estados Unidos y hay mas contacto con la familia y el país. Yo soy de una ciudad fronteriza y la mayoría de las personas hablan español, incluyendo las tiendas. Sería interesante saber si el español se seguirá pasando de generación en generación, ahora que mucha más gente está hablando español.

Este articulo es interesante y lo puedo utilizar para mi proyecto final. Muchos jovenes pierden la lengua que habla su familia y pienso que debemos tomar varios pasos para poder retenerla. Estoy de acuerdo con la idea de que hablemos nuestra lengua materna dentro y fuera de la casa. La practica ayudara bastante.
