IMAGES: 'On The Road' Gets An Awesome Makeover | Bibliobibuli | Scoop.it
I started by making a drawing for every page of "On the Road" in a Moleskine sketchbook, picking images that appealed to me without the burden of trying to tell the story in a linear way.
Sharon Bakar's insight:

This would be an excellent companion to reading (or rereading) Keroac's On the Road

This amazing ad lit up Kuala Lumpur with surreal LED parkour

This amazing ad lit up Kuala Lumpur with surreal LED parkour | Bibliobibuli | Scoop.it
We've always thought KL would be a kickass location for some high-octane parkour acrobatics, but this video, put together by ad agency CHI&Partners, turns the kinetic art of parkour into a surreal series of static - and beautiful - snapshots all over a serene nighttime Kuala Lumpur.  Done as part of automaker Lexus's Amazing in Motion ad campaign, the #LexusStrobe video project brought together a team of 40 engineers and experts from Thailand, insane logistical preparation, and a troupe of stuntmen each wearing a suit made up of 1,680 LEDs. Seeing it all come together - and set against the familiar backdrop of Petaling Street and Jalan Raja Laut, among others - is really something else:     And in case you're leering at how most of what you just saw is probably just pasted on CGI, CHI&Partners have got you sorted: they've also released a behind-the-scenes video on YouTube detailing how they made it happen IRL:     Pretty amazing, and just plain pretty and amazing.
Sharon Bakar's insight:

Amazing ad shot in KL -  totally deflects attention from the object its advertising, though. (A rather dull-looking car called Lexus).

Val McDermid: I would be a failed novelist if I started out today

Val McDermid: I would be a failed novelist if I started out today | Bibliobibuli | Scoop.it
Novelist who sold 10 million copies says she "wouldn't have a career" if she started writing now because the industry demands authors get instant results and accolades
Sharon Bakar's insight:

Publishers used to be in a position to nurture an author's career. That hasn't been the case for some time now, and authors who don't become best-sellers immediately tend not to get second-chances.  How many potentially great authors - writers who need time to grow and develop into their best work - do we lose this way?
