"Recently Google Docs has replaced “Research” in Google Docs with “Explore.” I have heard from several educators who are upset about the removal of “Research.” Note that the new “Explore” tool also allows you to do a Google Search within the Google Doc.
If you used the research pane, Google is interested in hearing from you in how you used it. Fill out this Form to have your voice be heard. Deadline for the survey is Friday, October 14."

The faster you provide feedback for students the more motivated the students are and it increases learning opportunities. When using Google Docs I need to know when students have worked on a document or have submitted a document. Unfortunately Google Classroom does not have a list of recently submitted work. For me, it always comes back to purpose. What is my end goal for the learning and who is the product for? These questions drive my planning on how I collect, respond to, archive, and share student work.
With Classroom, the teacher can give feedback to the student. But with Forms, the work can be more easily shared with the world. For my classroom and 21st Century learning, that’s an easy choice: I want my students to create for the world.

A New Google Docs Feature Ideal for Collaborative Writing in Class ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

Two days ago, Google released a new collaborative feature called ‘See new changes’. As of right now, this feature works only on Docs and is not yet available for Spreadsheets and Presentations. This is particularly useful for co-writing documents. Now when working on a document with other collaborators, you will be able to see the changes added to the document as soon as you open it.

Google Keep is a fantastic tool for taking notes, creating bookmarks, making task lists, and creating reminder alerts for yourself. Within Google Keep there is an option to set daily reminders for yourself. I have three of them in my personal account. At 7am, 9am, and 11am every day those reminders pop-up on my desktop and on my phone. They’re also present in my Google Calendar. In the video embedded below I demonstrate how to create reminders on Google Keep.
