"In a sworn statement filed with a federal court, Google has admitted to scanning student emails to serve students targeted advertisements. Although Google does not display ads in Apps for Education, Google “does scan [student] email” to “compile keywords for advertising” on Google sites."

Google Keep — Google's new Android-only app — is aimed squarely at Evernote. Oh, and at Cupertino, too.
Heather Perkinson's insight:

I'm still not giving up on notecards--nothing else beats their ability to be manipulated and organized.  However, I suspect those of us who are GAFE schools will be exploring Keep pretty thoroughly.

 

Free Technology for Teachers' Richard Byrne has a different assessment of Keep, by the way--he doesn't think it's ready to be considered an actual alternative to Evernote (yet):
