6 Must Watch Videos on 21st Education | Better teaching, more learning | Scoop.it

The list of mind blowing videos covering the topic of 21st century education and learning is growing bigger and bigger. There are actually some clips that I think every teacher should watch if not twice then at least once. These videos are not only an inestimable source of inspiration but are also a good resource packed full of great ideas on where education is right now.

Melf's curator insight, April 18, 2014 9:13 AM

Here you see some facts about how companies lack in security.

Some points like file sharing and getting worms are a really big issue. If there is no protection against that the company may be in danger. If all people have about 3 devices and they arent protected, you cant stop this.

Melf's curator insight, April 25, 2014 9:02 AM

I think that people should pay more attention to this because there are more victims every day. Not only persons but also companies could get trouble with not paying attention to your data.

Melf's curator insight, April 25, 2014 9:07 AM

Im very afraid of losing data myself. I saw a commercial once that someone took over the identity of another person. I hope that people pay more attention and try to be more safe in the future.

Kids learn best when they see how things work, when, where and why they happen. Watching educational videos is a great way to learn because it allows kids to build a visual picture or model in their mind. The visual dimension not only helps them understand concepts better but also stimulates curiosity and encourages self-training.

The Other Super Bowl: Commercials And The Power Of Student Voice

The Other Super Bowl: Commercials And The Power Of Student Voice | Better teaching, more learning | Scoop.it

As the week ended, many of our students were abuzz over the Super Bowl this Sunday, but not so much because of the game. It's the commercials. They love them, and we have fun deconstructing the multitude of advertisements each year on Monday after the game. It reinforces their media literacy skills and provides opportunities to broaden the discussion.

Audrey's curator insight, April 2, 2014 4:55 AM

This is what was found:  "The students in the Independent Project are remarkable but not because they are exceptionally motivated or unusually talented. They are remarkable because they demonstrate the kinds of learning and personal growth that are possible when teenagers feel ownership of their high school experience, when they learn things that matter to them and when they learn together. In such a setting, school capitalizes on rather than thwarts the intensity and engagement that teenagers usually reserve for sports, protest or friendship..."
