With SlideIdea, presentations are no longer a one-man show. SlideIdea gives presenters the tools to engage their audience through their audience’s smart phones, laptops, and tablets. Each SlideIdea presentation is provided a unique URL (i.e, www.sld.im/12345 ). Regardless of the location, an audience can simply input the URL into their internet browser and then immediately follow along with slides, participate in polls, ask questions, or even network.

Slideideia permite ainda importar (e melhorar) apresentações Powerpoint e ficheiros Pdf.

Não chega? Muito bem: com Slideideia pode ainda gravar as suas falas durante a apresentação. Excelente!

Guidelines for an effective design of serious games

Ana Cristina Pratas's curator insight, February 9, 2014 8:51 AM

Abstract

There is an increasing awareness about the potential of serious games for education and training in many disciplines. However, research still witnesses a lack of methodologies, guidelines and best
practices on how to develop effective serious games and how to integrate them in the actual learning and training processes. The process of integration heavily depends on providing and spreading
evidence of the effectiveness of serious games. In this paper we present an overview on the factors that make serious games effective in the perspective of maximizing the learning impact, and discuss the current efforts in evaluating such impact. Such recommendations are the result of an extensive surveyof the current proposition of serious games in different application domains.

Teacher centered classrooms are being replaced by student centered learning environments. Students take a more active role in their learning and the teacher is there to facilitate and guide.  Learning objectives are flexible to provide options for students with diverse learning styles to help them successfully meet the learning objectives.

How to Train Your Mind to Think Critically and Form Your Own Opinions

How to Train Your Mind to Think Critically and Form Your Own Opinions | Better teaching, more learning | Scoop.it
"Critical Thinking" may sound like an obnoxious buzzword from liberal arts schools, but it's actually a useful skill. Critical thinking just means absorbing important information and using that to form a decision or opinion of your own--rather than just spouting off what you hear others say. This doesn't always come naturally to us, but luckily, it's something you can train yourself to do better.
