Is the DSLR Dead?: Fuji X-Pro1 real-life review | Best Quality Mirrorless Cameras | Scoop.it

My Sigma DP Merrill & Leica Blog: Sigma DP Merrill Love

My Sigma DP Merrill & Leica Blog: Sigma DP Merrill Love | Best Quality Mirrorless Cameras | Scoop.it
Lainer's insight:

Everyone hates the Sigma DP Merrill camera because they are a pain to use. So many quirks. I love them. They aren't as quick and easy to use as the Fuji X series or the Ricoh GR or any other P&S type camera. They are not good in low light situations past ISO 800 unless you use it in B&W, and it's best to use a tripod. But the resulting files when you take the time to get to know these battery sucking beasts are quite phenomenal and nothing comes close to the details or 3D effect "Kodachrome film" look of these cameras. Pixel peepers will have their jaws drop when they zoom in. Leaves look like leaves, not blotches. Fur on my dog looks like individual fur strands and not smeared. So choosing one of these cameras isn't a matter of convenient shooting. It's a matter of top quality results from methodically slow calculated shooting. This camera is intended for landscape and street in better lighting conditions, and on a tripod. Of course I bucked that trend and take pictures of my dog.

How To Download and Install Fuji Colour Profiles for Capture One

How To Download and Install Fuji Colour Profiles for Capture One | Best Quality Mirrorless Cameras | Scoop.it
For a while now there’s been something that I’ve been meaning to try in
Capture One that I’ve never gotten around to, and that is to find some
colour profiles for Fuji cameras. Unlike Lightroom, Capture One doesn’t
include colour profiles for the Fuji film simulation modes. However, it
does have a comprehensive colour matching engine, and many people have
posted their own matching profiles.

Olympus E-M1 Mark II review: the camera that warps time | Best Quality Mirrorless Cameras | Scoop.it

Lainer's insight:
Love the functionality of the camera, but the micro four thirds sensor seems like outdated technology now. No matter how you slice it, the low light shooting is not as good as APS-C sensors and higher. Am I wrong here? I just can't seem to go backwards from full frame or APS-C to this.

The Separator – The Fujinon GF 110mm f/2 review

The Separator – The Fujinon GF 110mm f/2 review | Best Quality Mirrorless Cameras | Scoop.it
For many Fujifilm GFX owners and future buyers, the Fujinon GF110mm f/2 must be one of those lenses that you must own at some point. Just like the Takumar 105mm f/2.4 for the Pentax 6x7 or the Hasselblad HC100mm f/2.2 for the Hasselblad H-system, the GF110mmf/2 seems to be one of those lenses that is…

A compact 50mm, to complete the Fujinon f/2 nifty lens trilogy has finally arrived. And it's fantastic. Back in the fall of 2015 I reviewed the newly released 35mm f/2. It is an awesome lens, that I to this day still use on a weekly, if not daily, basis. Then a year later, in fall…
