The 10-Minute Guide To Bloom's Taxonomy - Edudemic

The 10-Minute Guide To Bloom's Taxonomy - Edudemic | best practice in using technology in the classroom | Scoop.it

Bloom’s Taxonomy is one of the most cited theoretical constructions within education and e-learning. This is well earned since, after its first publication in 1956, the taxonomy has quickly become an important milestone within educational theory.

However there are many professionals within the educational and e-learning fields that have only a vague idea of what the Taxonomy is all about, or that have only met the taxonomy (or some revisited version of these findings) for the Cognitive domain only, leaving the Affective and Psychomotor domains at the margins, if not completely out of the picture.

The robotic soundtrack is a little irritating, but this is a well-constructed and relatively deep introduction to the taxonomy, including the underlying psychology that drives it.

Aidan Hoyal's curator insight, July 30, 2013 10:26 AM

Great overview -- but it would be so much better if narrated by a human :-)

Allan Shaw's curator insight, July 31, 2013 10:57 PM

Right on schedule for a mid-September release date, photos and hardware specifications of the iPhone 5S have leaked from the Chinese supply chain. Looks-wise, the iPhone 5S appears to be identical to the iPhone 5 (no surprise there), but the internal hardware specs have received a significant boost.

Interesting video on MOOCs. It's beginning to look like anything that is online education is now being called a MOOC. It's like an echo from 20 years ago when e-learning started taking off. Seems like a lot of people are really missing the point.

Ruth Vilmi's curator insight, May 12, 2013 3:45 AM

This is not new - I taught the International Writing Exchange (IWE) from 1993, but technology allows much more nowadays. Go for it and learn whatever your heart desires!  Go for challenging courses though, not a book on the Web!!

Information and knowledge is there. Only you decide what to make of it.

Sharing knowledge will always give you back more than what you give.
