Spot on guidance - don't force songs but use the promise of doing something as a settler; use the thrill of doing something again, louder for students to want to have another go!

Regular Bedtime Means Better Behavior

Regular Bedtime Means Better Behavior | Effective Behavior in Kindergarten! | Scoop.it
Most parents know when their child is sleepy. No matter what age they are, children behave better when they are well-rested.
A regular, enforced bedtime helps your child get a consistent amount of sleep each night.
Chelsey Johnson's insight:

I believe this is true because if you get the right amount of sleep you can focus on school and doing good.

Chelsey Johnson's insight:

This is true even for early childhood students. If a child enjoys the strategies a teacher brings, the student will want to continue coming. But if a teacher does not show interest in their student as much as the student in the teacher, there is not going to be any improvement in grades, nor will the child want to continue schooling.

Bullying Prevention: Start Before Kindergarten

“Many children experience the beginnings of bullying behavior for the first time while in daycare, preschool, or kindergarten,” explains Karen Goldberg, a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in working with parents and children, including adolescents. “The groundwork for how to deal with and prevent bullying behavior is laid early on. The sooner children are given tools for preventing bullying, the more effective they will be.”

Via Rubi Valencia
Chelsey Johnson's insight:

I remember I was being bullied at a very young age because I was the really quiet girl and one day even my bully had to tell me to start standing up for myself. If we teach children to stand up for themselves at a young age they will become more confident and maybe even help other students in the future of even currently.

Rubi Valencia's curator insight, April 2, 2013 3:01 AM

"The sooner we address the issue, the better off everyone will be, even the children who may do the bullying.”

Jenelle K. Karp's comment, May 7, 2013 11:44 PM
I think this is so true we need to start addressing bullying issuse in preschool before the sooner they understand. Giving them the tools earlier on in life will help prevent bullying to happen later on in life.
