Not many of us do, unless you are a food photographer or have a chef in the family. Artists Caitlin Levin and Henry Hargreaves got up close and personal on their most recent collaboration, "Food Scans," cutting up produce to reveal its patterns and scanning them to create beautiful, intricate imagery.

Hypnotizing Translucent Waves In 19th Century Russian Paintings Capture The Raw Power Of The Sea

Hypnotizing Translucent Waves In 19th Century Russian Paintings Capture The Raw Power Of The Sea | Beautiful Things | Scoop.it
Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky loved painting the sea. A Crimean native, he was born in Feodosia, a port town, and thus had great waters as a constant companion. This 19th century Russian Armenian painter had real knack for depicting waves. Light and translucent, they perfectly capture the essence of the real thing. Many of these paintings featured a human element, too, with ships showing the struggle between man and nature.

Rice is a staple of half of the world's population and has been instrumental in our efforts to prevent potential famines, but that's only part of what makes it such a beautiful plant. The flooded rice paddies that stretch across the Far East and other areas that cultivate rice are stunningly beautiful, lending their landscapes a unique beauty that at once structures and blends in with the natural landscape.

L’étude est intitulée « Life Cycle Assessment of Low Carbon Cars 2020-2030 ».
