Four years ago, if a patient had a spot on the lungs, he would have to have a biopsy and spend a few days in the hospital waiting to see if the lesion was cancerous. Since then,technology has moved up on helping people, in a way  that gives doctors a more precise way of diagnosing lung cancer. Cancer before all the medication and treatments was deadly and had no way of being treated, and now its still deadly but it can be cured because of our new technology. Lung cancer is the type of cancer that effects the lungs in a bad way by causing pains and lots of problems. Allot of people who had cancer that got treated survived and lived on without it.

Did you know? Lung cancer is by far the leading cause of cancer death among both men and women.

This is a very informative article which most people should read, knowing more about different kinds of cancers helps to detect it early and prevent it.

Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in both men and women (not including skin cancer). The most common is breast cancer in women. Lung cancer accounts for 14% of all cancers. In this past year 226'160 people both men and women have been diagnosted with lung cancer of that 66.6666666667% are over the age oof 65 or older. Fewer then 2% of all cases are found in people younger then 45. THe chance that a man will develop lung cancer is 1:13 and a women 1:16. African Americans have a 40% more chance to develop lung cancer then a white American. Cancer rates have been dropping recently over many years of it rising. There is a cure and more then 350'000 people alive today have been cured.

To help prevent lung cancer stop smoking or don't even start. Eat more fruits and veggies. Regular exercise can as well lower the danger of this cancer.

Green tea and vitamin C also can benefit in this area. The reason is that these supplements are either anti inflammatory or anti oxidants. Numerous of these supplement are easily available in health-food stores and even in a local supermarket. Stay out of the coal mines and rigs because they won't help. They'll just make it show up after its to late.

Symptoms that show that lung cancer has metastasized is when you start coughing up small amounts of blood, wheezing, have a shortness of breath, and/or start having severe chest pains. They say that 30-40% of people who have cancer show signs that their type of cancer has gone into its final stages.

There are two main types of lung cancer that someone can be diagnosed with: small-cell, and non-small cell. A late stage cancer is categorized as "Stage 4," and means that the disease has reached its final stage after having "metastasized" (spread from its origin).
