Something constructive from tech

Something constructive from tech | Bay Area Housing | Scoop.it
Frustrated by their industry being blamed for San Francisco's housing crisis, a group of tech workers helped out Saturday at a Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco site in the Ocean View neighborhood, where the organization is constructing 28 single-family homes priced below market rate. Even VC billionaire Vinod Khosla thinks S.F. rent is insane

Even VC billionaire Vinod Khosla thinks S.F. rent is insane | Bay Area Housing | Scoop.it
The gap between the haves and have-nots is something that has been on Khosla's mind a lot lately - and not just because activists have portrayed him as the embodiment of Silicon Valley greed for blocking public access to a beach near his property near Half Moon Bay. "What's happening is if you have a great idea and the technical skills to implement it, you can create disproportionate wealth very quickly," he said.
