JR a self-proclaimed “Urban Artivist" - “Encrages” Exhibition @ Galerie Perrotin

JR a self-proclaimed “Urban Artivist" - “Encrages” Exhibition @ Galerie Perrotin | BASIC VOWELS | Scoop.it

The Galerie Perrotin in Paris plays home to JR’s first major solo show, running through January 7, 2011. A self-proclaimed “Urban Artivist,” JR’s art is engrossed in a personal mission to unearth the humanity within the concrete urban landscape on a global scale. By flyposting his large installations in cities from Paris to Tel Aviv, the metropolitan jungles of the world both bear witness and participate directly in this ephemeral street art. The show will be a scaled-down exhibition of his omnipresent works, and transport his larger-than-life photographs of anonymous portraits from the walls of the streets onto the walls of the gallery.

Anatomy of a Smart City

Anatomy of a Smart City | BASIC VOWELS | Scoop.it

Did you know that 1.3 million people are moving to cities each week?! It then explains the need for smart cities and delves into what is required to establish these intelligent connected environments, how the smart city may take various forms in the developing worlds and what specific technologies are necessary to achieve such grand goals in practice.

A stunning infographic which predicts how urban living will change in this century.  Our age is truly becoming "a century of smart cities."  Exciting times lie ahead.  Aloha, Russ.
