Ileane Smith's insight:
Ileane Smith of BasicBlogTips.com
“I’m a big fan of CommentLuv, and in fact there was a time when I worked closely with Andy Bailey as the Official CommentLuv Ambassador. However, I bit off more than I could chew in that role and eventually I had to step down. Around the same time I decided to stop giving “Luv” to my commenters and ending up trying to explain why I made the decision in this post If You Wait for Perfection You Might Miss the Boat I’m still not sure if people understand what I was going through at the time because I believe my situation was somewhat unique. Let me try to explain, although I still use the plugin, I turned off the LUV back in May 2013, yet I continue to get traffic from people who see my blog listed as a DoFollow commenting blog. It’s pretty frustrating, because even when I did have the LUV turned on, most of the comment links were not DoFollow. So what started off as a beautiful thing turned into a but pain because I spent hours moderating comments every day. I know there were solutions like adding additional plugins but that was the last thing I wanted to do. All in all I don’t regret using CommentLuv, but I do regret the fact that there are so many bots and spammers out there that will do anything for links that in the end are just a big waste of everyone’s time. It’s such a shame that we have to load our blogs down with plugins just to have a normal conversation with a real person.
I never used Disqus comments on my blog so I can’t give you any feedback there. Currently I use the native WordPress commenting system along with Google + comments. As I mentioned in the blog post, it’s not a perfect solution, but it will have to do for now.” - Ileane Smith.
Seems like the simple word blog became so complicated to some of the minds of todays business owners....
I like medium size. Somehow some blogs when it gets too popular, they stop answering their comments and to me that is not cool. So no matter where you at in your ladder, you should not stop engaging or answering your comments.

Do You Have a Strategy for Triberr?
Usually, I feature articles, videos and slide shares that have recently been published in this series but I’m making an exception this week. I want to share Ileane Smith’s YouTube video Reach Millions of People on Twitter with Triberr, Although this video was uploaded in September of 2013, her content is still relevant and hopefully some readers here will benefit from watching it.
As an intro, when Ileane Smith (of BasicBlogTips.com) created this video, she had only been active on Triberr for two to three months. In that time, she built a tribe with a reach of over one million. So, what can we learn from Ileane about Triberr? You’ll have to watch for yourself, but (as I often do in these Friday Finds posts), I’ve bullet pointed some of Ileane’s best Triberr tips here:
Ileane Smith's insight:

Use Customer Personas to Craft Your Message (Basic Blog Tips)
To make your marketing massage on your blog or elsewhere, you must know more about the customers you are talking too. Small business advisor E.J. Dealy has these suggestions for using customer personas to craft a more effective marketing message.
If you’re a savvy marketer and like to be on the top of things, you know that Pinterest is social media’s newer kid on the block and a rising star.
It was enough to make online authority bloggers listen up when Shareaholic shared a study claiming Pinterest brings in more traffic to websites than LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube and Redditcombined.
That is something only a heavy-hitting marketing tool can provide. The platform is the third most popular social media platform in the US in terms of traffic with a more than 10 million users in February 2012....

She loves to help people thrive online, whether it be blogging, podcasting or youtubing, and she loves to get visual on Pinterest. She was also thefirst guest of honor on the Mad Lemmings Podcast, sharing her wisdom with the world. The best place to find her is on Basic Blog TIps andPinterest.
I’m really excited to see all the traffic coming into my blog from Pinterest for a couple of reasons. One is that the traffic is very targeted and to top it off the bounce rate is extremely low. I want others to have the same experience so I’m offering a free Pinterest 101 guide. This is geared toward anyone who is setting up their very first Pinterest boards.

1. One of my favorite tools for promoting my blog posts on Pinterest is Viral Content Buzz. I love this network and because I’m active there, other users are reciprocating by Pinning my content as well.
Since VCB also allows you to share content on Twitter, Facebook and StumbleUpon it’s great for building social proof and getting unexpected bursts of traffic from any of those sites including Pinterest.
For example, Canva is great for grabbing pre-formatted layouts for your design, but PicMonkey fills the gap with their options for resizing and adding simple borders that can’t be achieved inside of Canva.
1. Here is a video I recorded that I call Pinterest Quick Tip: How To Check Your Pinterest Notifications. I recommend that your readers check it out to discover a handful of gems hidden behind the little red notifications button.
2. My other advice is to check your analytics and in order to do that, your site needs to be verified. It’s simple to do, and very similar to the process for verifying your site with Google Webmaster Tools by adding a snippet of code to your theme.
However, I wouldn’t rely on the basic stats from inside of Pinterest. Take it a step further and sign up for TailWind App so you can find out who is Pinning your content and which boards are more engaging. Here’s a TailWind App Tutorial.

This is post #1,500 for I'm Just Sharing and it's been quite an interesting ride. I started this blog in December 2007 with an idea that maybe I could make some money blogging. My other intention was to be able to write whatever I wanted to write, and to that end I was in immediate conflict. You see, though I didn't necessarily see it as blogging, I started chronicling parts of my life and thoughts back in 1995 on a site called My Dear Diary. It allowed you to be anonymous and, well, it was a diary. It was a diary that could be read by others if they so chose, and of course you could read other people's diaries as well. It allowed for a stream of consciousness that I had started back in college when I used to buy all these spiral notebooks to chronicle what was going on in my life; strange stuff… What is it with some people that they like to write down what they're thinking and what's going on? For me, I saw it as a sense of history, people I wanted to remember, events that were s

One thing is for sure, you certainly have a lot to say!
But somehow we never get bored listening to you. :) Thanks so much for including in the list of thank yous. That's a real honor.
I think my favorite point was #14 when you said "stuck to my principles". That's one of the things I count on when I think about you and your blogs and videos. I know that you won't be a sell-out and in the long run that is extremely important. Even if you change your mind about something there's always a compelling reason that you manage to make others see your point (even if they don't agree).
I asked around about Dennis a few months back and I agree that he was a great guy who always had a unique perspective and left some awesome comments.
Congrats on 1500 and I'm looking forward to what comes next.
