Steroids and their effects

Steroids and their effects | Major League Baseball | Scoop.it

Steroid use in the game of baseball, sports and our world today has gotten out of hand and continues to grow rapidly each and everyday. Some people think steroids just get your muscles bigger and bulker and that's all. But that's not what happens steroid use puts your health in danger and your body. Steroids effect everything in your body not just help you. Steroids are illgegal and unethical. Steroids can also effect your behavior and brain. Steroids effect the limbic system in your brain and the way you learn and your memory. Steroids don't make a person or player, they kill a person or player.

The Boston Red Sox need to go ahead and get this deal done now to put the issue to bed! He's still swinging a very dangerous bat and was a huge part of bringing another World Series trophy Beantown this past season. I don't see why he can't stay productive for another two years. I know he's 38, but with the DH and the way he's producing I see this as a no-brainer.

Steroid use can be categorized under both professional and personal ethics as far as personal use and abiding to rules and regulations prohibiting it's use.

Jamison Fausett's curator insight, February 8, 2014 11:52 AM

While I strongly disagree with the use anabolic steroids, I think the way we look at steroids as a society could be adjusted. From my own research there is many positive benefits that could come from the use of Human Growth hormone.

The MLB has been effected from the steroid use on the MLB during the whole steroid era. In recent years many players have been caught using steroids and have been punished. In Recent years the MLB has been cracking down on players usng steroids. There are punishments for each time you get caught using steroids. The first punishment is a suspension for fifty days. The second punishment is a suspension for one hundred days. And the last punishment for getting caught using steroids three times is a liftime suspension from baseball. The punisment is like a three strikes and your out kind of thing.
