ISLAMABAD - The Supreme Court, on Wednesday, stated no institution was performing its duties in Balochistan and FC, police, spy agencies and provincial government have failed in order to restore law and order in the province.
A 3-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, heard the proceedings of the case of law and order situation and human rights violations in Balochistan.
The chief justice directed the counsel of the federal government that after the failure of provincial government, it was constitutional duty of the federal government to control the situation.
Justice Jawad S Khawaja stated, “If local government elections were conducted in Balochistan, perhaps the situation could be better, not a single target killer has been arrested, the abduction for ransom, target killings and smuggling are being done openly”. ...
