KARACHI: Chief Minister Aslam Raeesani and his cabinet has been sacked and Governor rule has been imposed in Balochistan, after a high level meeting was held at Bilawal House Karachi chaired by President Asif Ali Zardari, The Shia Post reported.
The chief minister, who was abroad for a trip, made the decision as Shia families refused to bury their dead after a series of bombings in Quetta, and vowed to continue their sit-in protest until the army takes over security.
Law Minister Farooq H Naek and Waseem Sajjad attended the meeting while minister Khusrid Shah also briefed the president on his failed talks with Shia protesters earlier in the day.
Reports said Raisani decided to resign under pressure from the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership. He will submit his resignation in the next 24 hours, according to reports.
