Thousands rally against border bombardments in Iraqi Kurdistan capital | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

ERBIL-Hewlêr, Kurdistan region 'Iraq', — Thousands of citizens took into streets in the Iraqi Kurdistan region capital, Erbil, to protest against the Iranian and Turkish bombardments of Kurdistan borders.

The protesters in the campaign dubbed ‘Public for Home’ are chanting anti-bombardment slogans and marching from Sami Abdul-Rahman Park to the office of the United Nations in Ainkawa, Erbil.

This is not the first protest rally to the neighbors’ incursions against the villages at the base of Qandil Mountain range.

Since mid July the neighbors are shelling and bombing the ragged mountainous area where the rebels of PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) and its ally PJAK (Party of Free Life foe Kurdistan) are operating.

"We would like to mention once again that the solution to the Kurdish issue can be reached through democratic and peaceful steps, not with the policies of violence. We demand concrete and realistic steps for the formation of a peaceful democratic environment and permanence of peace," said Elçi.
In Turkey, the ruling party, the opposition parties and the media yell battle cry in chorus. After the air operations in southern Kurdistan, preparations for the ground war are being made. The refrains of ?eradicating the terror? of 27 years are again in the limelight. The past 30 years show that Kurds cannot accept the burden of this inauspicious problem inherited from the last century until today any more, and it is clear they are going to do anything to solve it

Fears Of Ethnic Tensions Rise In Iran Amid Azeri Clashes, Kurd Offensive | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

Iran has launched a fierce security clampdown in the country's Azeri and Kurdish regions amid fears of rising ethnic tensions on its northern borders.

Reports from inside Iran say security forces clashed with demonstrators in the northwestern cities of Orumieh (aka Urmia) and Tabriz on September 3, with at least one account alleging that troops used live ammunition. Officials say 60 people were arrested in the latest protest.

Kurdish troops on patrol in Iraq's restive Diyala - AlertNet

JALAWLA, Iraq, Sept 9 (Reuters) - Hundreds of Kurdish soldiers have moved into disputed areas of Iraq's volatile Diyala province to provide security in a sign of continuing tensions between Kurds and Arabs as U.S. forces prepare to leave Iraq at year-end.

Iraq's disputed territories, particularly the area around the northern oil-rich city of Kirkuk, are considered potential flashpoints for future conflict when American troops depart under a 2008 bilateral security agreement.

Two battalions of Kurdish peshmerga, about 1,300 soldiers, recently began patrols alongside the Iraqi army in the town of Jalawla and surrounding areas usually controlled by Iraqi police and soldiers. The force will increase to about 2,400.

Kurdish officials said Kurds in the troubled region, a volatile mix of Arabs, Kurds and Turkmen, do not trust Iraq's police and army, which are dominated by

Erdoğan’s temper-tantrum should benefit Kurds | Kurdistan Tribune | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

Last month, a Turkish air raid killed seven Kurdish civilians in Iraqi Kurdistan. Surely, the Turks—by Erdoğan’s own definition—used disproportionate force against the unarmed Kurds—several of whom were children or infants. After all, if Turkey defines Israel’s actions illegal because the Israeli Defense Force used disproportionate force—helicopters and hand guns versus activists wielding knives and clubs—then what exactly would the Turkish Foreign Ministry consider Turkey’s own use of supersonic aircraft versus unarmed villagers?

This course looks at how OODA loops can be applied to soccer. OODA loops is a decision/action model widely used in the military and by police and first responders. It is ideally suited for the complex, adversarial nature of soccer. Applying these basic ideas is the start of getting, and staying, ahead of your opponent. https://coursmos.com/course/ooda-loops-in-soccer?utm_source=seedcnv&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sd&utm_content=17

A PKK spokesman told the AFP there were no casualties from the raids.

The Turkish military earlier said it would press ahead with strikes until the rebels were "rendered ineffective".
