International Human Rights Organisations should take notice of Pakistani atrocities in Balochistan: | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it
The chairman of BNM (Baloch National Movement), Khalil Baloch, has announced a nationwide protest movement, on Tuesday, against Pakistani barbarism and ongiong military offensives in Balochistan.

He alleged, “Pakistani occupying military have been conducting a brutal army operation in Mashkay of Awaran district using heavy weaponry against unarmed population.”

He said the use of indiscriminate air power against unarmed innocent Baloch people showed that the colonial state was utterly frustrated over the increasing Baloch popular movement for freedom.

Addressing the press Mr Baloch said, “during operation in Mashkay and Awaran regions of Balochistan the occupying forces attacked the house of Baloch leader Dr Alla Nazar and his relatives. Pakistan’s security forces abducted Shah Baig Baloch, brother-in-law of Dr Allah Nazar and Naeem Baloch.”

He urged Baloch nation to bring unity in their ranks and be mentally ready to face the enemy’s repression and atrocities against their children and other vulnerable sections of Baloch society.

He strongly criticised world powers including America and Iran for supporting Pakistani state, adding that “their aid to Pakistan is being used against Baloch nation.”

He further said previously the aid that Pakistan received in the name of war on terrorism has been used against Baloch national resistance in an effort to eradicate the Baloch National identity and loot Balochistan’s natural resources without facing any resistance.

He alleged that, “Pakistan has perpetrated worst type of human rights abuses during Awaran Mashkay siege in which children and women were killed and injured.”

He urged the international human rights organization to take immediate notice of human rights violations in Balochistan.

Rehman Malik , of Pakistan, is involved in crimes against humanity in Balochistan

Rehman Malik , of Pakistan, is involved in crimes against humanity in Balochistan | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

: The Baloch patriot leader, Hyrbyair Marri, has strongly criticized the Pakistan Media, Judiciary and other institutions, adding that Pakistan has prepared for a full scale military operation in Balochistan against Baloch nation.

The Baloch leader said that Rehman Malik, the federal interior minister of Pakistan, is involved in war crimes in Balochistan. Frontier Corps in Balochistan operates directly under the supervision of Rehman Malik. The FC, MI & ISI also abduct Baloch youth on his orders. The FC’s involvement in extra judicial killings and abductions of Baloch youth was recently proven when the IG police not only presented a video footage to the Supreme Court of Pakistan but he also appeared before the court and gave evidence. Despite this concrete proof, the Baloch youth shown in the video footage being abducted by FC were later killed and dumped.

He further said, “Rehman Malik, Pakistani judiciary and media are now doing baseless propaganda in favor of the Pakistani armed forces in order to wipe the blood stained hands of Pakistani Army, FC and ISI and measures being taken to make the conditions favorable for a large-scale military operation in Balochistan. In 2010 Rehman Malik had himself publicly ordered to use brute force against Baloch Student Organisation –Azad and few specific pro-independence political parties. Hundreds of Baloch youth have been extra judicially killed and dumped since then. Now once again Rehman Malik and FC are all set for a massive military adventure in Balochistan. Along with federal and provincial government, Supreme Court is also not only supporting killing of Baloch people but as well as giving protection to Pakistani Army, FC; ISI & MI. Pakistani Media is also contributing in this sorry state of affairs by concealing the brutalities inflicted on Baloch people.”

....

The Baloch leader said that the Baloch nation was struggling for its independence for past six decades with very limited resources whereas Pakistan is continuously putting allegations on Baloch nation of receiving foreign funds and support. If there were any foreign support, he said, Balochistan would have been an independent state long ago. Addressing the International Community Mr Marri said, “We still expect and want Afghanistan, America and the civilized world to support the just cause of Baloch nation. We have had strong historical ties with Afghanistan long before Pakistan even came into existence. Afghan and Baloch nation have lived in peace for centuries and had mutual respect. But Pakistan does not bear this relation because she considers Afghanistan and Balochistan her colonies.”

Mr. Hyrbyair Marri said that it was not only difficult but impossible for Baloch nation to live with Pakistan. The Baloch own a distinct language, culture, geography and thousands of year old history. Our dignity, identity and self-esteem are unsafe in Pakistan and neither does Pakistan consider us as human beings, said Mr Marri adding that Pakistan has imposed foreign language and culture on the Baloch nation. Urdu is considered Pakistan’s National language but the fact of the matter is that all nations living in Pakistan, Punjabis, Sindhis and Pashtuns have their own distinct languages. Urdu is in fact a military language from 18th century; the Turks and Mughals invented it to communicate with people of India.

Sehrish awaits justice - the torture and murder of Zubair Baloch

Sehrish awaits justice - the torture and murder of Zubair Baloch | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

...

The killers had torture murdered another student activist for his valid demand of his legitimate rights. Many other students, doctors, intellectuals, engineers and teachers, also share the same fate as Zubair. Various activists were killed before and after him. Sehrish is not the lone sister to cry. Their family is not the only one to curse brutal state machinery. Thousands of others either wait for the bodies of their loved ones or they have dried their tears, like Sehrish, on dead bodies. More than five hundred activists have been killed since June 2010 and it goes unabated without any one questioning the unquestionable authority given to the killers. ...

Pakistan's festering wound - Balochistan!

Pakistan's festering wound - Balochistan! | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

...

The landmark initiative Dana Rohrabacher has taken in support of Balochistan, together with five other Congressmen, should spur liberals in India and Afghanistan to move similar resolutions in their respective parliaments. It is for both the countries to decide to what extent they can stand by the Balochs. They should, nonetheless, make no concessions to Pakistan when it comes to human rights issues.

By such a concerted stand, we would set a positive precedent in the South Asian region of abjuring repression and joining those who believe in democracy and human rights. In today's globalised world, torture must not be pardoned because it is considered one country's internal affair.  ...

Human rights violation and state’s barbarities in Baluchistan [Overview]

Human rights violation and state’s barbarities in Baluchistan [Overview] | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

I am writing in this time in order to raise our concerns about human rights abuses committed by none other than Pakistani army in Baluchistan. Amnesty international including other human rights organizations have already received ongoing States barbarities, cruelty and other inhuman or degrading treatment to common Baloch political workers in Baluchistan. I would like to point out only some cases which have taken over the last some few months.

These reports are based on the fact those have been found in Amnesty International’s report 2011

Pakistan must provide accountability for rising atrocities in Baluchistan” report revealed by Amnesty on February 2011 but atrocities unfortunately still continues by Pakistan army, paramilitary forces FC, infamous agencies ISI, MI, militants groups like Baloch Musallah Dafa Army, Nifaaz Aman, Fidaheen Islam etc backed by vicious state machineries. The report revealed in February 2011 by Amnesty international concluded that the “Pakistan government must immediately provide accountability for the alarming number of killings and abductions in Baluchistan attributed to government forces in recent months” unfortunately the use of torture and other inhuman treatment committed by ISI, MI and paramilitary forces during illegal arrest, interrogation and torture is still widespread in Baluchistan today and Judiciary accountability mechanism are too weak or ineffective to combat impunity to the criminals.

Baluchis in Europe protest against gross human rights violation by Pakistan in Occupied Baluchistan

Uploaded by AzaadBaluchi on May 24, 2010
Ever since its annexation by Pakistan in 1948, Baluchistan has been subjected to a quadruple whammy of military occupation, political domination, economic exploitation and cultural hegemony. Just like Israel's settlement programme on the West Bank, Islamabad has a settler scheme to colonise Baluchistan. It is encouraging Punjabis to move to the region. The aim is to make the Baluch people a minority in their own homeland.

Punjabi supremacists have imposed an alien language, Urdu, on Baluchi-speaking people. Borrowing from the tactics of apartheid in South Africa, which forced black children to be schooled in Afrikaans, Islamabad has dictated that Urdu is the compulsory language of instruction in Baluch educational institutions. The cultural conquest also involves the radical Islamification of the traditionally more secular Baluch nation. Large numbers of religious schools have been funded by Islamabad with a view to imposing Pakistan's harsher, more narrow-minded interpretation of Islam. This is fuelling fundamentalism.

The West's attitude towards the plight of the Baluch people is less than honourable. Because Britain and the US want Pakistan as an ally in the "war on terror", they have armed Pakistan and acquiesced with its suppression of the Baluch people. Pakistan's war against Baluchistan is strengthening the position of the Taliban, who have exploited the unstable, strife-ridden situation to establish bases to terrorise the... Baluch people and enforce the Talibanisation of Baluchistan. The Pakistani military... bases in Baluchistan are also hideouts from where Taliban fighters mount military operations in Afghanistan.

If the nations of the world want to strike a blow against the Taliban and fundamentalism, they should seek an end to Pakistan's repression in Baluchistan and support the Baluch people's right to self-determination. Baluch secular nationalism could act as a powerful bulwark against the Talibanisation of the country, which ultimately threatens all the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan and the wider region.

The best way to resolve this issue would be a UN-supervised and monitored referendum to allow the people of Baluchistan to freely and democratically determine their own future. If tiny East Timor can be an independent nation, why not Baluchistan?
