75 year old man, Mohammad Buksh Baloch, is abducted by the Pakistani Paramilitary forces. | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

...

The abduction of Mohammad Buksh Baloch, 75 year old man is another affront which is  why Baloch have no trust left in Pakistani judiciary or Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), which is why Baloch are seeking for foreign assistance and intervention in Balochistan.  Because not only are Baloch activists are being killed and dumped but even the Baloch elders are now the target of the  Pakistani forces.

If this doesn’t show the ruthlessness of Pakistani forces toward the Baloch nation then the Baloch nation must indeed doubt the intentions of those international human rights groups who are ignoring the plea of the Baloch nation for a long time and haven’t played any active role to support Baloch movement  This is in itself shocking because there seems to be an increase in operations  and checkposts where the Pakistan army is deliberately abducting Baloch activists and workers like Mohammad Buksh who, at his age,  has been abducted just because he is a part of the Baloch nation.

Establishment accused of promoting Islamists in Balochistan | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

Ali Dayan asserted that HRW had diligently raised the human rights situation at every forum to win rights for Baloch people and for everyone to know that Pakistani security forces were involved in execution-style operation against Baloch nationalists but he also blamed nationalist militant parties for targeting civilians randomly, most of them non-Baloch settlers in the province.

He alleged that Balochistan is in the grip of a “tsunami of human rights violations by Pakistan” where the number of “enforced disappearances” is highest in the world today. Mehran, whose sister-in-law was recently killed in Karachi said even women are not spared. Noordin Mengal said there is rarely, if ever, a terrorist incident which isn’t linked to Pakistan. He expressed concern that Islamist militants are entering Balochistan under the banner of charitable work to foment and foster hate and sectarianism of the worst kind. Meanwhile, in another development Baloch diaspora leaders gathered in Sweden for a full day of seminars on Balochistan. ...

1000 Days of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons

The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) took out a massive protest rally in Karachi on Wednesday on completion of their 1000 Days form peaceful protest against human rights violations in Balochistan.

Thousands of people joined the rally to pay tributes to enforced-disappeared Baloch and those who have been killed in custody by Pakistani forces. The rally set off from Arts Council Karachi and marched to the Press Club where a big demonstration was held. The participants of the rally had come from different areas of Karachi to express their support and solidarity with families of enforced-disappeared Baloch activists.

Large numbers of Baloch women and children carrying placards, banners and pictures of abducted Baloch activists chanted slogans in support of Baloch freedom struggle. The rally went to the protest camp of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, outside Karachi Press Club, and lit candles in memory of those killed and abducted by the state security forces.

Speaking at the occasion the vice chairman of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, Qadeer Baloch, said that, "we have taken out this rally on the completion of our 1000 days of protest for the release of our loved ones. Today is an important day for Baloch struggle because despite abduction of 14500 of our beloved ones and killing of 606 activists in custody, our movement is continuing with patience and consistency. The intelligence agencies of Pakistan have threaten to kill us [leaders and workers of voice for Baloch Missing Persons) but I will not mention those difficulties and hardships, because those who are sacrificing their lives, and those who are languishing in enemy's secret prisons are facing inhuman torture and state barbarism which are far greater hardships than what we are facing."

He said in these 1000 Days the Baloch students, pro-independence political parties, women, children and social activists with the regular visits to the camp have encouraged the VBMP to continue the struggle for recovery of abducted Baloch.

He further said, "the study of different liberation movements around the world shows that those nations who fought on different fronts against their enemy have succeeded to reach their destination."

He said Voice for Missing Persons was established with the aim to highlight the state atrocities in Balochistan and genocide of Baloch people. "Our main objective is to highlight the abduction and in-custody killings of Baloch political activists, students, labourer, lawyers, doctors, intellectuals, journalists and other members of Baloch society by state agencies and military. We are trying to inform media and international community, the UN and other human rights groups about the plight of Baloch nation. We are struggling peacefully and democratically to achieve our objectives. We initiated this movement on platform of VBMP from Quetta with the setting up of a token hunger strike camp."
He said to promote the cause of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, "we have set up the International Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (IVBMP) with cooperation of our comrades abroad. Through IVBMP we are informing the world including UN human rights council, EU, America, Canada and the Middle Eastern countries about plight of Baloch missing persons. As result of our struggle the UN has sent a delegation of WGEID to Pakistan and Balochistan to investigate the cases of enforced-disappearances."

Mr Qadeer Baloch said the UN group met members of VBMP and other Baloch pro-independence political parties in Karachi and Quetta. The GWEID expressed grave concern over enforced-disappearance and extra judicial killing in Balochistan and urged Pakistan to stop military operations and release the illegal detained persons immediately. He said the US senate has also expressed concerns about human rights violations in Balochistan and recommended that Baloch should have the right to decide their fate. The US senators have also recommended the suspension of support to Pakistan military, he added.

He said during these 1000 days Voice for Baloch Missing Persons have set up camps in Quetta, Karachi and Islamabad. Large numbers of families of abducted Baloch have participated and joined the VBMP campaign for release of their loved ones. "we have continuously been on protest for past 1000 days. Today the VBMP is message to Baloch nation is that, "the main objective of our struggle is freedom of Balochistan and we do not hesitate to render any sacrifice for the national cause. We will continue our struggle against the extra-judicial killings and for the release of abducted Baloch activists even if you have to protest for a thousand year. We want to assure the Baloch nation that we will not back-down from our commitment and struggle at any cost."

Mama Qadeer’s struggle is the guiding torch for the activists all around the world

Mama Qadeer’s struggle is the guiding torch for the activists all around the world | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

...“Men and women around the world have struggle against oppression and brutalities and they have become part of an eternal history. Similarly the great sacrifices and continuous struggle of Mama Qadeer and his comrades will be remembered in the history of Baloch and the world. Mama Qadeer’s struggle is the guiding torch for the activists all around the world. His struggle shows to the people of the world that how an old and weak man took a stand against the brutalities of occupiers and denounced to bow before the intruders,” said the spokesman of BSO-Azad.

He further said that today because of the efforts of Mama Qadeer and his comrades the issue of Baloch missing persons has been raised in different parts of the world. Now because of these efforts United Nations and the world is breaking their silence on this grave issue.

The spokesman added that Mama Qadeer continued to protest for the missing Balochs despite his son was killed and dump. His struggle has also motivated the families of other Baloch missing persons and today they are standing beside Mama Qadeer. In these hard times when Balochs are continuously being killed and abducted and the Pakistani judiciary, armed forces and covert agencies are leaving no stone unturned to suppress the Baloch people, the struggle of Mama Qadeer is going on without any breaks. The missing persons camp has been ignited time and again, the pictures of Baloch martyrs have been dishonored and continuous threats have also been given to Mama Qadeer and his comrades but these all couldn’t break the ambitious Mama Qadeer. He was neither deterred by the threats nor he stumbled because of his old age but continues to raise the voice of oppressed from Quetta to Karachi.

Balochistan And Missing Persons

Balochistan And Missing Persons | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

.....

Brahamdagh Bugti, Harbyar Marri and Suleiman Daood in exile in Geneva and London respectively along with other hard-line Baloch nationalist leaders are quite vexed and view it as a sellout to the government, and a blow to their separatist agenda. Even the Baloch Sardars in the government are feeling edgy that the nationalists allegedly backed by the establishment may snatch power from them. Talal Bugti led JWP and Mir Hasil Bizenjo led NP too are having reservations. Given the conflicting perceptions, Akhtar Mengal will not have a smooth sailing. Once Akhtar decides to take part in the forthcoming elections, his opponents will dub him as a collaborator. However, the Baloch nationalists are a house-divided and stand on a weak wicket.
In response to Akhtar’s demands, the Chief Justice demanded that all missing persons should be produced before the court and all proxy death squads created by the ISI and MI should be disbanded. His directive implied that he had accepted Akhtar’s contention without being furnished proof. Chief Justice’s stance together with the visit of UN team has encouraged vested groups and external power centres harboring ill-motives against Pakistan in general and Balochistan in particular to go-ahead with their agenda. Doom-Sayers say that the final act will be played before the departure of US-NATO troops from Afghanistan, and that the UN and the US will start making overt moves in 2013 leading to declaring Balochistan an "occupied area". ....

Rights groups concerned about abducted Balochs of Balochistan.

Pakistan is not sparing any effort in silencing Baloch voices that are raised in protest. On February 22, mutilated bodies of Mehboob Wadela of the Baloch National Movement and Rehman Arif of the Baloch Republican Party were found in the coastal town of Ormara. Both activists suspected to have been kidnapped by Pakistan intelligence agencies a few months ago, bore marks of extreme torture. The incident sparked protests in different parts of the province. The "Kill and Dump" tactics by central agencies are on the rise as is clear from the number of bodies of missing Baloch people that are being recovered. According to the NGO, Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, as many as 101 bullet-riddled bodies of missing persons have surfaced over the past seven month.

QUETTA: Relatives of the missing persons have decided to boycott a hearing of the joint investigation team (JIT), which is scheduled for June 4.

Addressing a press conference at a hunger strike camp outside the Quetta Press Club, Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VFBMP) Vice Chairman Mama Qadir Baloch said, “We do not trust in investigation teams and commissions anymore.” He said that Justice Javed Iqbal had promised him on March 17, 2011, saying, “You stop the hunger strike camp in Islamabad and your missing persons will reach homes before you get home. But we started recovering bullet-riddled bodies of missing persons instead.”

Answering a question, Baloch said there was no improvement in law and order despite Chief Justice Ifthikar Muhammad Chaudhry taking up the matter in Quetta twice.

Two more Baloch abducted, a woman and a child killed by occupying forces in Dera Bugti – Sher Mohammad Bugti | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

... The arbitrary abductions and extra-judicial killings of innocent Baloch people continue unabated in Balochistan and on one hand Pakistani officials and supreme court of Pakistan claim to be making efforts for recovery of Baloch missing persons and for the halt in the cases of recovery of bullet-riddled dead bodies and on the other hand forces continue to abduct, torture and extra-judicially kill them.

...

It must be noted that the area always suffer from military offensives of the Pakistani forces and the residents are threatened by the forces to quit the area so they could pave the way of international oil and gas companies for the oil and gas reserves in the area. Drinking water sources like lakes, wells etc are poisoned and land mines are laid all over the area to compel the residents to flee the area. Laying mines, poisoning the drinking water and burning houses are the worst war crimes being committed in Balochistan by Pakistani forces with no attention from the civilized world.

The only aim of the so-called efforts of judiciary and claims of Pakistani officials about the recovery of the Baloch missing persons is to confuse the world about the real facts in Balochistan. We appeal to the international community, human rights organizations, European Union and the civilized nations to take notice of worst wars crimes by Pakistani forces and send fact finding missions to Balochistan to surface the genocide of Baloch people by the occupying state of Pakistan.
