As a judge in  criminal court he passed harsh sentences upon human Rights Defenders, activists, and upon children under the age of 18.  He admitted as evidence testimony extracted under torture.  He also accepted testimony of police offficers who gave conflicting reports in different testimonies.  Al-Zayed presided over the court of Nabeel Rajab and violated many International standards of a fair trial .  Many  witnesses called to appear in Nabeel Rajab's defense were barred from entry into Bahrain, thus eliminating their testimony.....  Rajab was sentenced falsely to 2 years confinement in his bogus court!
