Saudi Commandos In Bahrain, Why? To Spread Democracy?

Saudi Commandos In Bahrain, Why? To Spread Democracy? | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it
A Saudi military unit established by the late Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, has reportedly been assisting Bahrain's Al Khalifa regime in its crackdown on anti-regime protesters.

European Phoenix -- We have learned that the specially trained military unit, named Fahud Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, has been operating in Bahrain to help the kingdom’s forces silence ongoing demonstrations against the decades-long rule of the Al Khalifa royal family.

The unit is reportedly under the control of Saudi Arabia’s Interior Ministry and was founded when Nayef was serving as the kingdom’s interior minister.

The Saudi forces were deployed to Bahrain in mid-March 2011, to help the Manama regime launch brutal crackdowns on peaceful protests. Saudi forces have also reportedly used Bahraini police uniforms when cracking down on protesters.

The Fahud unit is also regarded as a full army, which is in charge of torturing prisoners in tens of detention centers across the country.

It is now controlled by Nayef’s son, Mohammad bin Nayef Abdul Aziz, who was appointed as the country's Interior Minister last month.

The Fahud unit was has been used by Saudi Arabia to crack down on protesters due to its notorious reputation in the region.

The unit is also involved in the arrest, murder and suppression of people in the Qatif region of Saudi Arabia’s oil-rich Eastern Province, which has been rocked by anti-regime protests since last year.

The uprising in Bahrain began in mid-February 2011. Dozens of people have lost their lives in the crackdown, and the security forces have arrested hundreds, including rights activists, doctors and nurses.

Saudi Arabia has been also facing a rise in protests against arbitrary detentions and widespread demands for the release of political prisoners.

According to the Saudi Civil and Political Rights Association, there are about 30,000 political prisoners in the kingdom.

Saudi Arabia has also been rocked by anti-regime protests since February 2011 with demonstrators holding numerous protests in different parts of the country, mainly in the oil-rich Eastern Province.

Dangerous: A Bahraini officer "Ali Aaref" slaps a citizen on his face

Published on Dec 24, 2012

Aali - Bahrain: On Sunday 23rd of December 2012 at afternoon during wide inspections that were carried out by policemen, a bahraini policeman officer called "Ali Aaref" talks to a citizen from Aali who is carrying his young child, and suddenly he slaps him twice on his face without justifications.

Spencer Haskins's insight:

Categorical police brutality and obviously unprovoked!    Surely this is gross violation of the teachings of the Prophet as contained in the Quran!     Surely this is a violation of Bahraini Law!    I pray this 'officer' is humbled by Allah, and I pray this Man with his Child is lifted up for his suffering and his forgiveness of his fellow man .....  he is obviously a great father and a great Man!

Inshallah!

5 Bomb Blasts Hit Bahraini Capital - Al Khalifa terrorists are suspects... | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

....

Opposition politician Matar Matar of the Shi'ite party Wefaq said he doubted that opposition activists were behind Monday's attacks, noting that leading Shi'ite clerics had called on followers to avoid escalating the conflict with the government.

He suggested the police or military might have been responsible, or a rogue unit.

"This incident is strange - why would anyone target workers?" he said. "I'm worried that police and military are losing control of their units or it is (preparation) before declaring martial law."

Maryam al-Khawaja, acting head of the Bahrain Centre for Human Rights, said: "As always, we condemn violence but, given the Bahraini authorities' background in spreading disinformation, we call for an independent investigation into the deaths of the two migrant workers."

Khawaja, who is based in Denmark, said the attacks were "not grounds to start a campaign of collective punishment, arbitrary arrests, and torture, as we've seen happen before". ....

BREAKING: Said Yousif is detained and tortured in front of his children at a checkpoint in #Bahrain

BREAKING: Said Yousif is detained and tortured in front of his children at a checkpoint in #Bahrain | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

Said Yousif is free now and this is a partial recounting of the events:

Said Yousif was traveling in his car upon the roads of Bahrain and was stopped by  regime thugs.  They said he was wanted on charges and slapped him in front of his children who were riding in the car with him.  Said Yousif was in possession of a picture of Nabell Rajab which these thugs found.  These thugs fixated on the picture and demanded Said Yousif say bad things about Nabeel Rajab in front of his children, and he refused to lie for them!  When he refused, they punched Mr.Yousif and continued demands for slurs against Nabeel and continued punching him as he refused to lie!  Then they took Said Yousif to a checkpoint in Aali and drove his car there as well.  His wife came to get the children and retrieve the car.  Mr. Yousif was issued a bogus traffic violation and these thugs told him : ' this is an Eid gift.'  The picture/banner of Nabeel Rajab was stolen by these thugs and not returned!  He was taken to central police station and his statement was taken, and his signature/commitment to answer the charges was taken, without counsel present or having had access to counsel.  The arrest was completely arbitrary and was not supported by any arrest warrant from a public prosecutor!

CORRECTION:  The regime thugs didn't return the car, they stole that too!

see also:  http://is.gd/yH61w4

Arbitrary arrest, detention, and public torture of an innocent citiizen!  This is the everyday barbarism of the Al-Khalifa regime!  This is the atrocious abuse of power that is the bogus jurisprudence system in Bahrain!

[Picture of Said Yousif's beautiful children.  Don't these children deserve better than this abuse by the 'Government' of Bahrain? ]

Bahrain opposition launch “Gangs of Darkness” Campaign to highlight the constant attacks on homes - Bahrain Freedom Movement

Bahrain opposition launch “Gangs of Darkness” Campaign to highlight the constant attacks on homes - Bahrain Freedom Movement | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

In a press conference marking the launch of the Gangs of Darkness Campaign, Khalil Almarzooq, political aide to the Secretary General of Al Wefaq, said “The total amount stolen by regime forces during the national safety period exceeds $10 million, whilst the number of houses raided during June and July 2012 is as many as 270”.

He added, “We are talking about groups who can only be described as gangs of darkness for their official adoption of terrifying tactics to scare and intimidate the people. These crimes cannot have been perpetrated without an official will.”

..

He added “If this is the number in 2 months, imagine how big it must be since the 15th March 2011 (start of martial law). The King of Bahrain is the one who is responsible for this number, which was read in front of him by Mr. Bassiouni. 270 homes were raided after the release of the BICI report and we ask, where is the role of the judiciary to stop these raids? The regime is still offering impunity to senior officials.

Addressing the Crown Prince he said “270 houses have been violently raided in the country and their residents have been inhumanely abused. We have condemned all forms of violence from the opposition in all of our speeches, it is now your turn to condemn these unjustifiable raids during your Ramadan visits this evening.”

“We ask all Islamic societies and figures, the TGONU, Al Asala, Al Menbar: do these raids march with Islamic ruling?” he asked.

“We call on the UN Secretary General, all officials, all concerned parties worldwide to take note of what is happening in Bahrain....

“$10 million have been stolen during such raids, including cash, electronic equipment, appliances and property.”

“These violations are being perpetrated by those who are supposed to preserve law and order in the country. This situation has been the same for all 42 years of this age-old appointed government. This is the sham security being offered by the government, most of which is from one family. This is the security Khalifa Bin Salman’s government offers. This is absolutely unacceptable.” Almarzooq stressed.

Almarzooq also made clear that these raids are a product of systematic state terrorism. According to the documentation, those who raided homes are masked men, backed by police. Furthermore these masked armed civiliansm, supported by the police, are fixing police badges on their clothing. All documentation proves that police are directly involved in the raiding of homes.

“In this matter we wholly encourage mutual opinions and are ready to cooperate for the sake of our homeland. There are rights that should be respected as was mentioned in the BICI report and of other international organisations. We are looking for all concerned people who want to defend the rights of the people of Bahrain and end their violations.”

Bahrain charges 15 policemen with abuse of prisoners

Bahrain charges 15 policemen with abuse of prisoners | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it
Bahrain has charged 15 policemen with “mistreatment” of detainees, the government said on Tuesday, as part of an investigation into reports of torture of protesters rounded up in a crackdown on unrest in the Gulf Arab state.

[What a sham!  1. When these crimes are committed and the regime turns a blind-eye to them and is indifferent for over a year, then that is a TACIT AFFIRMATION of the conduct.  Irregardless of any explicit orders being given, the signals are being sent that SF's and police can act with wild abandon and all is sanctioned by the regime. 2. Multiply the number of offending 'officers' by 100 and you have a more accurate scope for the pervasiveness of the problem!  3.  This token trial of the very few officers cited, and their relatively mild punitive response IF they are convicted, serves as further evidence that their behavior was authorized de facto by the regime.  These 'officers' are sacrificial lambs so that the Al-Khalifa terrorist regime can maintain 'plausible deniability.'  Their denial is, as always, totally implausible however....]

Bahrain: Police torture is govt policy

Bahrain: Police torture is govt policy | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it
Bahrain's interior minister said in comments published on Wednesday that police had been given no orders to torture or kill protesters - practices that were highlighted in a government-commissioned independent report last year.

[By not actively pursuing any criminal charges against those perpetrating these acts, the regime has made torture their governmental policy.  This is a rouge to dispell responsibility....NOT WORKING !

The responsibility for all torture in Bahrain falls squarely on the shoulders of the Al-Khalifa terrorists ..... It matters not that Osama Bin Laden didn't fly a plane into the twin towers, he organized it and condoned it....hence responsibility conveyed to him.  Same with Al-Khalifa terrorists.....]

Bahrain: Pregnant woman attacked by regime forces whilst breaking fast

Bahrain: Pregnant woman attacked by regime forces whilst breaking fast | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

Bahraini regime forces raided two homes in Sanad last night, brutally assaulting a woman in the process. They verbally insulted another women whilst aiming their guns at others.

On Friday 3rd August the Darkness Gangs raided a home at dusk, as people were preparing to break their fast, insulting, attacking and humiliating those inside.

In an inhumane and outrageous way, Darkness Gangs brutally attacked a pregnant woman by kicking her in the stomach and insulting her with all manner of disrespectful words, showing a lack of any moral or religious values. Such actions reveal the appalling mentality of the security forces that behave more as thugs in a gang than a decent security system.

The gang that raided the home consisted of both civil police and riot police, with one member pointing a gun at a group of people who had gathered near the house. ...
