Bahrain forces attack Shia mosque near Manama | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

Bahraini forces fired tear gas at people attending a funeral ceremony inside a mosque in the village of Sanabis.

It was not immediately clear why security forces stormed the mosque.

Bahrain’s main opposition party al-Wefaq strongly condemned the incident, saying this is the second such attack this month.

In February, the regime forces also attacked a mosque in the village of Sa’ar near Manama.

Dozens of mosques have been demolished in Bahrain since the start of anti-monarchy rallies in 2011....

Bahraini government forces damage Shiite shrine

Bahraini government forces damage Shiite shrine | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

Security forces in Bahrain have attacked another religious site, damaging a revered shrine.

The Al Khalifa regime's forces have vandalized the shrine of Sasaa Sohan al-Abdi, a companion of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), in the village of Askar on the southeastern coast of Bahrain.

According to reports, the building of the shrine has been damaged and its valuable items have been stolen. The Al Khalifa regime’s forces have attacked 38 religious sites since the uprising began in 2011.

Bahrain's main opposition group, al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, has condemned the regime's assault, saying that it shows the authorities' animosity toward the people.

The Bahraini security forces had earlier threatened the shrine’s caretaker, saying they would cut off his feet if he came to the holy site. ...

#Bahrain: Targeting Freedom of Belief in Order to Create a Sectarian Conflict to Control Public Protests - #Ashura

#Bahrain: Targeting Freedom of Belief in Order to Create a Sectarian Conflict to Control Public Protests - #Ashura | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

The Bahrain Youth Society for Human Rights (BYSHR) and the Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR) express their grave concern for the measures taken by the Bahraini Ministry of Interior against a group of Shiia clerics and a group of those responsible for Shiia religious places, after summoning and threatening them.

...

The Security Forces removed, burned and destroyed religious signs and banners belonging to the Shiia sect from roads and buildings (especially religious places). The banners contained statements and quotes that are linked to the battle of Karbala. One of the removed banners quotes “The peoples of the nation began to raise their voices with the same call of Imam Hussein: We will never be humiliated" and another quotes “No homage for Yazeed, drunker, killer of the respected soul”. The Security Forces also warned people not to re-install these signs and banners in more than 8 villages. In Aali alone, 15 men were arrested on 18 Nov 2012 while they were hanging the black flags symbolizing the mourning. When a family member asked about their crime she was told by a police officer: “I will charge them with something that keeps them in prison for a year.”...

Bahrain conflict: Not sectarian, Not Sunni, and Not Shia.......Just about freedom and Rights!

The regime and its loyalists try to foster sectarian animosity in order to divide Bahrainis and conquer them......thus maintaining their positions of oppulence.   Shame on the Al-Khalifas, this isn't a Shia or Sunni issue, it is a Human Rights issue.  The opposition represents all who are 'Human' and advocates for their rights.  To foster enmity of Muslims against fellow Muslims is not in keeping with the teachings of the Prophet!

#Bahrain : the kingdom of religious oppression

Massive rally , west of the capital Manama today Friday 5th April 5, 2013 titled " strives to ruin them" --marking one of the painful anniversaries in the history of Bahrain, mosques demolishing. A crime of many that were perpetrated by the Bahraini regime, during a period, when the Peninsula Shield forces entered the country , and during a period when the people of Bahrain had witnessed all kinds of vindictive violations that they have never witnessed before, most of these violations were perpetrated against the pro-democracy citizens. Many human rights organizations as well as the BICI have documented these violations.

The regime's vindictive repressive measures was targeting everything. In a historic precedent, the regime ,shockingly, destroyed 38 mosques across Bahrain some of them were build 400 years ago, which is before the presence of the current ruling family.

The BICI report, which known as Bssiouni Report which was issued in November 2011, concluded that the mosques demolishing, which perpetrated by the regime , was vindictively perpetrated against a fragment of citizens and it is unlawful and lacks the logical justification. The commission also pointed out the many sacred places have been vandalized in addition to their facilitilties. The commission recommended also that these demolished mosques must be rebuilt and hold the perpetrators accountable for all violations committed against the citizens' religious practices and their beliefs... the issues is unresolved as the authorities refuse to rebuild all the demolished mosques.
It is not only the demolishing of mosques that has been witnessed during the emergency law in 2011, which was based on oppressing the Bahraini revolution that erupted in 14th February,2011. Violations took many different forms, arbitrary arrests, torture to death, thousands of workers dismissed from their works, mosques had been demolished, which were all internationally denounced. The regime could not justify the mosques demolishing, some officials wanted to justify it their justifications were all contradictory, which indicated that the whole process vindictively conducted against the citizens and their beliefs, measures that have never been taken in any Islamic country in the world.
The demands in Bahrain have entered their third year , they demand a peaceful democratic transition of power a real partnership to run the country, but these demands are still being faced with brutal violence and oppression from the official side, some of the area across in Bahrain have been militarized by the regime forces that work hard to stop any peaceful protest that take place in many areas across the country.

Bahrain seeks charges for protests calls during Shiite religious ceremonies - Ashura

Bahrain seeks charges for protests calls during Shiite religious ceremonies - Ashura | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

MANAMA, Bahrain — Bahrain says it has taken legal action against some Shiite worshippers accused of mixing anti-government protests with annual religious ceremonies. The crackdowns during the Shiite commemorations building toward Ashura — marking a seventh century battle in Islam’s early decades — could cause further tensions between Shiite religious leaders and the Gulf nation’s Sunni monarchy.

Opposition groups and others, including the U.S. State Department, have strongly denounced a government order last month to outlaw protest gatherings. The move seeks to quell a 21-month uprising by Bahrain’s majority Shiites seeking a greater political voice.

A government statement Sunday says “a number” of Shiite religious figures have been referred to the public prosecutor for delivering political sermons or leading anti-government chants.
