Al-Eker under siege...

Five days, and Al-Eker is still under the brutal siege of the oppressive Bahraini regime.
No one is allowed in or out.
Under the unannounced curfew the residents of the area are not allowed to visit mosques for prayer, not even hospitals for necessary treatment..schools are disrupted.. and the residents are nearly short of food
Still, the various violations against them..go on, while the media is not permitted to reveal anything of the truth behind the dark siege
The state media denies any presence of the lockdown, indifferent towards the suffering of a whole village. All it had to say to the Bahrainis is, "The opposition is lying"
But the regime did allow one reporter in, only having made sure of his willingness to sell the regime's lies.
The people of al-Eker made nonstop appeals and rescue calls, amidst ongoing threats of more brutality
And as the Bahraini people responded, promptly through repeated attempts to break the siege, and as they were harshly attacked...
al-Eker remained steadfast
The people of Bahrain had not let a minute of silence pass as the village of al-Eker is tightly isolated, and even food is halted
The opposition has held demonstrations in solidarity with al-Eker and against the oppressive siege, beside many protests in villages across Bahrain
This is an appeal to all international organizations and free media to visit the al-Eker village and deliver the painful truth of the sufferings of people who are solely punished for their demands of freedom and dignity.

"They were then taken to the public prosecution office without a lawyer to try and convince them they were guilty," Yousif, Deputy Head of the Bahrain Center for Human Rights, told Al-Akhbar.

The village of al-Eker has been under siege since the bomb was detonated overnight Thursday. Bahrain on Sunday announced that it had arrested seven people it suspected of the bombing.

Yousif was arrested yesterday along with two other activists, Zainab al-Khawaja and Naji Fateel, after trying to break the siege. ....

Bahrain: “Al Eker” Village under police siege for more than 48 hours 21-10-2012

Bahrain: “Al Eker” Village under police siege for more than 48 hours 21-10-2012 | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

Bahrain Centre for Human Rights (BCHR) expresses its deep concern over the escalated measures and the crackdown to which the population of the village of “Al-Eker” is being subjected to over the last two days. This follows the news of a policeman’s death, for which the government is blaming the people.

The government of Bahrain announced that a policeman, Omran Mohammed Ahmed, died on Friday morning as a result of a bomb explosion that took place in Al-Eker. Moreover, a second police officer sustained serious injuries due to the explosion.[1] Following the incident, a lock down was immediately imposed on the whole village of Al-Eker as a form of a collective punishment.

Although the BCHR could not ensure the credibility of the bombing incident and its connection with the pro-democracy movement, BCHR re-iterates its calls for the Bahraini authorities to abide by peace and respect human rights principles on the basis of international conventions to which Bahrain is a party. All basic human rights should be guaranteed for all people under all circumstances and shall not be violated during the process of an investigation of the causes behind the incident. The BCHR also calls for an impartial investigation in which the authorities provide evidence for their claims. The BCHR also reminds the authorities that claims of an explosion does not justify arbitrary arrests, random house raids, systematic torture, and collective punishment.

Bahrain Center for Human Rights received numerous reports that the village of Al Eker is entirely blocked by security forces. The residents are not allowed to exit or enter and have not been permitted to go to work since Friday. Moreover, the movement of those in need of any emergency medical care is restricted or not permitted, despite the fact that there are a number of injured protestors. Food supplies have also been halted from entering the village of Al-Eker.

It is estimated that more than 35 houses were raided between nightfall and the morning of 19/20 Nov 2012 and some houses were raided more than once. The raids were carried out by riot police and special security forces, which were accompanied by men in civilian attire and armored vehicles. We have received complaints that men, women and children were terrorized, physically and verbally attacked and insulted by police forces during the raids.

One boy told BCHR that more than 15 masked armed men from the special security force broke into his family home, causing terror between the screaming women and crying children. They grabbed his brother and started asking him about the location of their cousin. When he said he did not know, the masked men attacked him and started beating him. When the boy asked the masked men to stop beating his brother, they threw a stun grenade at him, injuring his leg. The police then proceeded to attack the women, spraying their faces with chemical spray.

Local activists inside the village estimated that at least 7 arbitrary arrests happened without any arrest warrants presented, and their fate is unknown. Ministry of interior confirmed that it has initiated the appropriate ‘legal procedures’ against 7 suspects.[2]

The government of Bahrain continues its human rights violations with regard to “Freedom of Religion”. The citizens of Al-Eker alerted the BCHR that the police did not allow them to conduct the “Friday Prayers” and received photos of an act of vandalism allegedly by the police at “Al-Momen” mosque in Al-Eker.

BCHR’s Human Rights Defender Said Yousef Al-Muhafdha and independent Human Rights Activist Zainab Al-Khawaja attempted to enter Al-Eker village on Friday night to document the human rights violations, yet they were stopped at a checkpoint and asked to leave immediately. They have now announced that they will attempt to break the siege on Sunday 21 October, at 2pm by marching peacefully to Al-Eker

The acts of the Bahraini government are not uncommon, as similar violations were happened in broad daylight during the Martial Law, which was imposed in March 2011 and has continued unofficially to date. Al-Eker village siege is proof that neither the BICI nor the UNHRC recommendations were applied or carried out by the Bahraini authorities.

A number of villages protested in solidarity with Al-Eker village demanding to stop the unlawful siege on its people. They were attacked with tear gas and pellet shotguns.

As this appeal is being written, BCHR is receiving news of more house raids taking place in Al-Eker.

BCHR calls on the international community to put pressure on the government of Bahrain to respect and guarantee human rights for all people under all conditions. It calls on the authorities to stop subjecting the citizens of Bahrain to acts of ill-treatment and collective punishment during the process of investigation of the death of the policeman. BCHR believes that an independent, fair and transparent investigation has to be carried out to look into the causes behind the death of the policeman as well as the death of dozens of civilians.

Al Wefaq statement on the AlKhalifa terror campaign against the people of Aker, Bahrain! | Human Rights and the Will to be free | Scoop.it

Launched Wefaq National Islamic Society in Bahrain urgent call to the international community and all human rights organizations and humanitarian, quickly move to rescue citizens in Bahrain are exposed to terrorism organized by the authority in the area, "Aker" south of the capital Manama, as called for a commission of inquiry neutral was being in the area of Aker Over two days and still continues.

The reconciliation that this appeal to anyone who has the conscience of a human and emitter to stop horrific abuses against citizens in Bahrain, which is for all international bodies concerned adopting by what is happening from the process of organization and systematic by the authority toward a slice of citizens in Bahrain under the policy of collective punishment included an entire region, and continue unchecked legal or humanitarian.

She Accord that area Aker trapping completely from all sides and prevents entry and exit, and legalized regime forces in Bahrain for the same violation of the sanctity of homes at any time and cracking and cursing and swearing and physical abuse and insult the religious beliefs of citizens and scorn of their faith, with live people, including the elderly, children and women in horror as a result of the repeated violations by the forces against them continuously, with a semblance of a curfew in an atmosphere reminiscent of an era "emergency" or so-called status of national safety system by March horrific crimes against citizens, can not be conceived without high political orders.

And prevent citizens in the region to go to work for two days أوالخروج any reason or emergency, including treatment in hospitals despite the existence of people in urgent need of treatment, and prevented from acquiring supplies natural food they need, and a ban on all cars catering such as bakeries and food and beverages from entering for the region to provide parents with their needs, as a ban on car cleaning services, and prevent human rights activists and public figures from entering, which raises deep concerns from committing more crimes against our citizens.

The helicopter also participated forces of the security system in the process, and the cars belonging to the forces of trying to run over any individual out of his house, and subjected them to torture and beatings.

The details that raids involving more than 40 raids and incursions into the homes and some have been breached more than once and tampering with its contents and broken and exercise ugliest and أفضع types of violations against their people, and evidenced by the nature of the raids as arbitrary and retaliatory not afford judicial authorization, as recorded cases of fainting and collapse among women and the elderly, including 3 women, while housebreaking barbaric and horrific.

Still the fate of a number of citizens who were arrested unknown to their parents as living in great concern for their lives, were arrested about 7 people and the number is expected to increase in light of the continued siege and continued raids of houses randomly and inhuman since Friday until today Saturday, October 20, 2012.

As part of its blockade of the area, residents Aker stressed that regime forces prevented worshipers from praying in a mosque and ordered based upon close it and not open it, as troops attacked a mosque last broke some of its contents.

This comes against the backdrop of killing a security man in an incident triggered the video photographer who published by the Ministry of Interior a lot of questions about the reality of what happened, while revealing exercise regime in the region they accuse all the people, "Aker" incident which indicates the state of confusion based revenge and revenge and not anything else , which confirms that the Ministry of Interior is not the same civil investigation into the circumstances of the incident, and this underlines the need to an independent, impartial investigating the incident, along with the investigation of violent crime and murder that killed more than 100 citizens were killed by elements of the ministry that now exercise the worst abuses of the entire region.
