A colleague of mine, Marc Emmelman, came up with this fabulous idea to spread the ability for companies to supercharge their marketing. How? By teaching them to curate awesome content that grows their business.

I said, "I'm in!" So we are taking 10 people through a hands-on workshop using Scoop.it as our curation platform. All the details are in this blog post.

Got a cause to promote? Got a message to get out? Want to establish your expert status? That's what content curation is all about.

I love sharing with people how content curation has brought me amazing business results. It's part of my company story :)

And you can do it too. Don't miss it and hope to see you there!

Placeit is a great web app which makes it extremely easy to create professional high-quality photo-shots of your product, service or web app inserted within pre-designed environments.

There are already over 550 ready-made setups/environments in which you can integrate any image you upload or reference by URL.

The images you provide are perfectly integrated into the ready-made shots taking into considerations also perspective and angle of the placement.

Most ready-made environments are based on photographs of smartphones or tablets within different locations.

Finaly composited images can be download for free at a resolution of up to 640x480.

Higher resolutions images are charged according to various monthly plans or by image.

Pricing info:

My comment: Great app. Very useful and simple to use. Placeit photo templates and technology makes it super-easy for anyone to create great product shots in seconds and at a fraction of it would cost to creat them in traditional ways. Five stars.

This is a great SlideShare piece by Lusko advocating that any business -- whether you are a startup or an established brand -- can use storytelling to grow.

I like the points made here about the kinds of stories you can tell, along with the list of customer personas that make your story crafting easier.

I just wish they had described the archetypes more! But never fear -- just Google the archetype and you'll have  wealth of information. Or use Carol Pearson's book The Hero And The Outlaw for a complete explanation (I have no financial ties to Carol).

So grab this piece and hone your stories!

Hey folks -- here are 3 companies who've used storytelling in different ways to grow their businesses. Yeah! These are the kinds of stories we always want to hear.

What I love about the first example is how the stories shared helped clarify/strengthen the internal culture of the business and the success that brought.

The second example uses a creative method to share the company's story. Actually, it's their supplier's stories which is even better! And wholesale customer's loyalty soared.

The third example shows the power of capturing and sharing customer stories. Customer engagement and business grew.

All of these can happen on a shoe-string budget. And some did! I hope this article gives you some ideas for what you can do too.
