Embed Google+ Posts and Automatic Authorship
Big news from the Google+ developers today:
1. Content creators can now embed dynamic Google+ posts.
- Just like Tweets and other social network posts, you can take a Google+ post, anyone's post, and embed it into a blog entry or webpge.
2. Wordpress and Typepad users who sign in with their Google+ account automatically get Google Authorship.
- With more platforms to be added soon, content authors will have an easier time achieving the authorship that Google wants for all of us.
Find out more in this afternoon's update below, including an example of an embedded post.
What's the big deal?
Aside from being pretty cool to be able to embed a post, the whole point here is that these developments make it that much easier for content authors to get the credit they deserve. Rather than quote something someone said on Google+, you can quote them in your blog and show the entire post, allowing that author to get full credit and be seen by your readers (and vice versa when it happens for you).
And many still struggle with setting up Google Authorship. Some platforms just aren't easy to manipulate and insert automatic links and tags - but soon that will all change.
How many of you have set up Google Authorship on your own sites?
Thanks for reading, and enjoy your evening!
