This Little-Known iOS Feature Will Change the Way We Connect | Gadget Lab | Wired.com | Ed Technovation | Scoop.it

Jim Harmon's insight:
Huge implications for schools and educators. Do you get ahead of the curve and pre-empt the negative possibilities? Seemingly no way to block this. I hate to be a worry-wart, but this could prove disastrous for the BYOD movement.

Smarter Teaching May Hinge On Smarter App Development
Jim Harmon's insight:

Too many app developers, with no experience in education, or who think they know what kids need to learn, are missing out on untapped audiences. In addition, too many publishing companies are putting out apps kids do not want to use (and in some cases, their teachers).

With the power of apps lying in the possibility of differentiation, app developers, who have immense skills yet no classroom sense, need to foster more partnerships with educators, who likely have solid/practical ideas for apps and no skill for creating them.
